No. The killing of anyone for any wrong was directed under God and there was a group of Judges set up to determine who was guilty of wrong doing and what punishment was deserving.

I wrote my question in the present tense on purpose. Please answer it with regard to our present day.

Now this was just absotively high-larious. BM's a pip. Damn, there's my entire social life, down the drain--how can i ever hold my head up again in society? Oh, the dire, dire consequences of "reading into" what BM has written.

Here, i'll go over this with you, so that you can understand why it is that someone with normal reading comprehension skills would be mystified by your ranting:

I wrote:
I was referring to the fact that you had capitalized the word religious. Capitalization of god, lord, him, etc., is an accepted convention, although i do not honor it myself.

That "emoticon" is not smiling, by the way. What is lame is you posting your religious screed, and then trying to wiggle out of the discussion.

and then

You wrote:
You keep reading into everything. May it serve you well, but right now I know it isn't.

I know it isn't a smile face. It is rolling its eyes. But you are nitpicking so I will let it go.

Inasmuch as commenting that you had capitalized the word religious unnecessarily was a direct reference to what you had in fact done, i wasn't engaged in "reading into" anything. Hence, your reference left me baffled. If you didn't come here with such a chip on your shoulder, and you expressed yourself more clearly, we'd all waste a lot less space in these fora dealing with your pouting style of exchange.

You shouldn't be baffled. You did read into something and I was right. Lets read it again so you can see it for yourself, "What is lame is you posting your religious screed, and then trying to wiggle out of the discussion." I know that is reading into something.

Please don't bore me with your dusty verisons of put downs with this "chip on your shoulder". Yawn.

I'm still waiting to hear why BlueMonkey thinks I'm evil (said on another thread) and why he/she won't tell me why.

You yawn, yet you took the time to reply. I read nothing into what you'd written. I noted that several people in these fora have taken to capitalizing common nouns and adjectives lately, and wondered "what was up with that." You were the one who read something into what i'd written. I placed no qualitative judgment on what you'd written based upon the odd capitalization, but you assumed that i had, and responded in your limited way, with an attack, and a denial that it matters to you, and you continue to demonstrate that it must matter to you, because you continue to respond. Entertaining certainly--but don't expect anyone to buy the "I don't care line" which you seem to drop off just about every other post.

As for my remark: "What is lame is you posting your religious screed, and then trying to wiggle out of it."--it refers to your having posted four paragraphs to support your silly position, but then backing off by claiming you don't want to discuss "Religious" issues. That was a clear, and a feeble attempt to have the last word and put an end to discussion. No reading anything into it, it is as plain as day.

I love the last word and apparently you do to. But again I put that there to explain my answer to the question of the forum.

Well, buddy, if you are going to respond to such a volatile topic, with strong religious opinions, and then claim you don't want to engage in a religious discussion, you must be pretty clueless about how fora such as these work. If you don't want to discuss it, don't drop off your comments in the first place, because they will be discussed.

Geeze, what tripe--you say you don't want to discuss religious issues, and now you say you will discuss anything you want. You are one of the most self-contradictory posters i've seen here, and that is saying a lot.

God, yer a riot . . .

What did I say? Oh I will discuss whatever I want to [or don't want to]. No contradictory lines there. But then again I must bug you because you keep harping and nit picking. That is saying a lot.

Jeeze, yer a piece of work . . . but i really rather expected this reaction.

You wrote that you don't want to discuss religious topics. I pointed out to you that this a cheesey thing to have said, and it is. Then you assert that i'd read into what you'd written, because you misunderstood my remark about capitalization. Then you continue to claim i'd read into your remarks, although you've dropped that line since i pointed out to you that i'd read nothing into your remarks, but simply pointed out that you had posted a religious screed, no reading into anything there, and then said you wouldn't want to discuss religious topics--a feeble to have your cake as well as eating it . . .

Now when i've pointed out to you that people will discuss the content and/or implications of what you post, whether or not you claim to want to discuss it, you respond by saying you'll discuss whatever you want, all of this after saying you didn't want to discuss.

I'm not the type to laugh aloud often, but you set me off on a regular basis . . .

I haven't discussed nitpicking at all. And my only comment would be that you may perhaps to be in a position to pick nits, i couldn't say--but as i don't have lice, i can assure you that i never pick nits.
