Adolescent boys go through hormonal changes, and men go through cyclical hormonal changes just as women do. It's just not as obvious as a menstrual period.

@Pemerson,
I don't know how to do Yoga but I'll try it if it helps. I guess I'll watch a YouTube video that shows how to do yoga and stuff. Thanks! Smile

I don't really find it all that fascinating. I guess it could be though...
It's just annoying and painful to me but atleast it means I'm getting a little closer to be a grown up. That's awesome. Smile

At age 1O, pubic hair grows on your groin.

when theyre having their Special Time?!
Try home schooling.

Hair didn't grow when I was 10 David. So that's not true; that's too young.

My dad doesn't want me to be homeschooled. He works during the day and he'd rather I be in school while he's working.

Janes lucky about not having cramps and headaches and stuff like me. How long did it take for her to get used to it? I hope my headaches and cramps stop like yours did. Smile

@GracieGirl,
No...you misunderstood her. she wasn't referring to death but to when periods are most likely to cease. Menopause occurs in the vicinity of age 48 (plus or minus) years. That is the length of time you could be expected statistically of having periods.

@GracieGirl,
Do you know about menopause? Once you get your period, you don't have it forever -- it stops at some point in late middle age. (Different for everyone.) That's called menopause, and is accompanied by other hormonal changes too.

edit: oooh a cluster! Haven't seen one of those in a while.

Oh, wait, so menopause means it goes away?! That's awesome! But why does it stop? Do you run out of eggs? Confused

Menopause is the transition period in a woman's life when her ovaries stop producing eggs, her body produces less estrogen and progesterone, and menstruation becomes less frequent, eventually stopping altogether.

@GracieGirl,
There are cramps and cramps. Prostaglandins are said to be involved as well as a narrowed cervical canal. Mine, which were often severe to the extreme (I've vomited in all the best places), didn't go away until a gynecologist prescribed birth control pills to ameliorate them in my twenties.

For all I know Pemerson may be right that yoga and being athletic in general has some bennies for it, but that may be anecdotal - I haven't researched whether muscle tone has anything to do with it as a cause. Perhaps that is additive to what else may be occurring physiologically. If your cramps are really getting to you, GG, see a gynecologist at least for a talk. Going to a gynecologist may involve an exam you don't want to have yet, but I'm not sure about present day practice - but they are the experts even if it is only for a talk.

This site, which has several pages to look at with an ad to get rid of for each page, is useful re what is occurring.

* adds, my twenties were a long time ago - birth control pills may not be what is prescribed now.

Oh! So I was right. You run out of eggs. Do you still get hair? Isn't it weird when if stops? Do boys stop getting their sperm too?

@GracieGirl,
No, "boys sperm is fertile until their last breath is uttered....the quality of the sperm however does diminish (although men would debate that).

Yes, once you enter menopause around 48 - 52, your menstrual cycle ceases
and you can be very happy about that, although then you'll have a whole new set of ailments to worry about. Once you cross that bridge, and I am still alive, we'll discuss it then Laughing

@CalamityJane,
Quality? What do you mean by that?

What happens to girls when they get menopause besides the cycle going away? Do you have menopause?

@GracieGirl,
I think you probably have relatively ordinary cramps and going to a regular family practitioner m.d. would be good at this point - in contrast to my saying to go directly to a gynecologist. You might also talk with your diabetes doctor when you next see him or her about what to do re eating or fluids when you have several hours worth of cramps and may not feel like eating. (I've no idea but probably worth asking).
