If someone tells you they don't want to hear from you, it certainly is. If you send a message and it gets ignored, that's a good clue that sending further messages would probably be harrassing. Why don't you just leave him alone?

No, because ignoring messages is easy. Beyond that your rights as a potential listener to dictate what can and can not be said are extremely limited. The potential speaker has the right to say what ever they want most of the time, and the potential listener has the right to choose to either listen or not most of the time. Very rarely can one be victimized by speech. Most claims of such victimization are attempts to control others.

Excessive pursuit is bad form, and it should not be allowed to work, but "harrassment" is a term that connotes the justification for sanctions, which are not justified for pursuit alone. The right to pursue what we want is a human right, pursuit can rarely be harrassment.

But maybe he hasn’t read my message yet, somebody else tole me to leave him alone and I just wanted to chat with him and find out how old he was, I wasn’t being mean or anything.
