Why do many cartoonists find it "necessary" to give cartoon characters love interests?

Jesus and His Disciples didn't that - they didn't flirt or have girlfriends. People in the Body Of Christ are not supposed to do that either.

There's a school of thought that says Jesus got Mary Magdalen pregnant.

@izzythepush,
That is a LIE. Jesus was the SON OF GOD - He would not do that.

@FOUND SOUL,
There's Ebay and my age is none of your business. I don't see how this relates to the discussion.

How do you know it's a lie, you weren't there. Jesus was a man as well, creating a child with the love of your life is not sinful. Weren't we all told to go forth and multiply?

Instead of dismissing something out of hand why don't you research it?

@JGoldman10,
JG only in the sense that maybe, your wife will be 30? Or more? It stands to reason that therefore she may have a child, and if so, they will demand more than we ever did, like I am 10 years or so older than you and we didn't expect much as a kid, right?

Yes there is E-Bay but aren't you going to have to start saving for a future?

Wife, and child?

Just saying....

@wmwcjr,
Elmer hunts Bugs and Daffy because that is his job. The cartoons are just making fun of that.

@JGoldman10,
Well.
Quote:
If they are going to be couples then THEY SHOULD BE MARRIED.

I am young I like cartoons I am Daddy's princess, I dream of a picket fence, I believe in love ,finding the one, waiting for my husband, but therefore, I have to find someone to feel for, to admire, to want to chase, cause I am young, and then I can hope he becomes my husband..

A girl with morals will wait, a boy too.

What comes before marriage? Attraction not just physically but also mentally and temptation can be guarded, you are proof of that.

Imagine a cartoon with no love? No ending? No please I hope they get together and get married?

@JGoldman10,
I've seen the new loony tunes show. My little boy loves it. He particularly likes Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog, but they've not been in it so far.

@izzythepush,
Did you watch that video? Lola was STALKING Bugs in that. How is that any different than what the skunk does?

@JGoldman10,
I didn't watch that particular one, but I have seen a lot of Lola/Bugs bits. It's a staple of comedy the amorous woman and the uninterested male. The main difference is that men are physically stronger than women so there isn't the threat element. Here's some classic Yorkshire comedy on the same theme.
