@edgarblythe,
You still don't get it do you ed? It's not about the arguments. It's about that lot wanting a free pass. Get me off and they will have one.

And the sole reason for the unwelcome sign is that you can't handle the challenges.

@ossobuco,
I wrote earlier--

Quote:
The materialists have a case to answer is all I'm saying and if they drive people challenging them out of the debate by accusations of trolling or of always wanting the last word or of wanting the thread to be about themselves or of being off their meds or of not knowing anything about the subject or of having their head up their arse or of imagining themselves omnipotent or of suggesting that they do things in their private life that they really didn't ought to suggest without evidence then the materialist case goes through on the nod and flat out materialism ensues.

I hadn't thought of my "jack in a box aspect" osso. Add that on to the above.

Anything else anybody.

Mr Huxley did the humane version of materialism in a few hundred years. Mr Orwell did the only other possibility.

Is there no "sneering snobbishly" emo head Beth? I bet you never heard the word before.

If you don't want them having a free pass, address the topic. Simple.

And the sole reason for the unwelcome sign is that you can't handle the challenges.

Once again: Make the challenges address the topic.

@edgarblythe,
Nada is a demanding instructor. Always odd to hear her name used in other contexts.

@GracieGirl,
Now you're at an advantage here, as the rest of us will undoubtedly die before you. So ... yeah. There's that...

Anyway. What were we talking about? Oh. Right. Zymurgy.

@ossobuco,
What you need osso is six months of incessant materialism. Which is what you would get if nobody incessantly fought it.

Do any other A2Kers have a jack-in-the-box aspect? What are you trying to say? I'll bet that an independent judge would give me first prize for variation, novelty, surprise, scholarship and originality.

Do you think we should all ration ourselves. What is your test for having a jack-in-the-box aspect. I hope it isn't the abuse of the hyphen.

Do you think I should stay out of the pub some nights in case somebody accuses me of jack-in-a-boxing? Or should I go to bed at unusual times?

Are you sure you want to refer to ossoB as a lady?

Yes--Nada the Lily was an interesting fictional creation of Sir Henry Rider Haggard. You should all read his best-selling books. Carefully.

@ehBeth,
That's true, ehBeth. I have had lady used to me as condescending, cutting. I don't always think of it well. Most of other times it was used in a meant-well way, but sometimes it cropped up as sneering.

I or we were the ones that could get those folks paid. Lot of resentment flying at the start of some projects.
