I consider a lot of educational qualifications to be little short of licenses to bewilder and belittle.

Perhaps religious bewilderment and collecting money off it is attacked because it provides catharsis for those who feel powerless to resist involuntary collections of money derived from other sorts of bewilderment.

Or a sense of felt superiority to those who are foolish enough to provide their church with the funds to keep going. The assumption that they are foolish is the sole premiss upon which such a ridiculous conclusion is based. That those who do contribute to a church get something valuable from doing so never seems to enter the heads of superior beings.

We will all condem con men and women I think although we do seem to reward a lot of them highly. The Catholic clergy take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. Any who don't mean it when they take their vows are con men and the Church has a lot of experience in weeding them out. Not in every case of course.

Strangely enough I get on exceptionally well with Europeans. Most of the "referrals" I have/get in business is from Europeans from all nationalities.

One can say that a woman who puts up with emotional abuse, being be-littled and stays in that relationship, makes it her choice, her fault and also voluntary.

Is it? Or can this "be-littling" play with the mind, destroy the strength that she once had or any strength that she had and bring her to a state where she believes in this "creature" And, feels no worth.

At least I guess with a Church, or religion the person that may be conned, by a "con man" is being told of love and happiness, so I guess religion wins in that regard.

The mind is a powerful thing, sometimes education has nothing to do with it, rather "evil" intent for personal gain, no matter what or who gets in their way.

Not quite... a con man is only identified as such... when caught... those who don't get caught are obviously not seen as con men/women (they are yet to be identified as such). So although your statement is correct it tells us nothing because of the reasons I've just given.

That depends. Whilst they may be under "investigation" and have not been identified, time also can turn that around, with more evidence and eventually they are caught out, unless they are "not" a con-man.. Rare is it, that they don't leave a trail of some form of evidence, it's a matter of time.

I also, don't agree with your statement here. The world would be a much better place if this statement were true but to be honest there are a LOT of conmen who get away with a lot of crimes and never see any justice for their actions.

Now I know theists like to jump in here and say their god will punish them for their crimes but this is meaningless because if they are only punished after their life ends, it does absolutely NOTHING for this life or the people's lives they impacted during this life.

For sure there are, but if you look at the context as to where I wrote that, it was to do with the vidoes presented by RL Where these guys are blatent about pretense, which I then went through and used another example about emotional abuse, as a "con man" for self gain.

Naturally, we could add to the catagory of con men and find exactly what you and IMG are saying. But, actually if you think about it, if they aren't caught, eventually in my opinion it comes out, that it "was" that person, after death.. With time, technology and or time..

I'm not that bothered about women who put up with abuse. I don't ever meet any such women. The women I meet make jam and pies and beam with joy when I tell them how good they are.

Where do you find these women of no worth?

If a con man always gets caught it is taking a long time for the Church to be sussed out.

My point was it seems that conmen are always caught because we only record them as conmen 'because' they were caught. Those who remain undetected are naturally free from being called conmen and free from being caught.

In Buddhism it is taught that the conman/woman would damage their own mind and that will eventually cause suffering because it is at odds with the natural way the mind is. It is the consequence of cause and effect. Negative actions must give rise to negative effects. This makes more sense if one believes in reincarnation i.e. believing that the mind-stream is unstoppable. A conman would be reborn in a place and with circumstances that suit his/her mental dispositions if that karma is dominant in that lifetime. They will suffer due to having conned others in the past. They cannot escape their actions i.e. their karma.

No need for a god to punish they punish themselves due to the damage they inflict on their own mind-stream.

I guess like I said, I was referencing something in particular.

I do believe in karma and I think my late post reflected that they will still be caught, after death, everyone leaves a trail..or at least if I can say in "people's minds" as worse.. That person will always be thought as being caught. I strongly believe in karma and re-incarnation and I also believe that we are here to learn and what we learn reflects how we come back to this Earth, on the next journey, until we get it right.

But then no doubt that leaves room for arguements on this thread.

Actually spendius.. My ex-husband was a classical emotional abuser but that's why he's my ex, I wasn't buying it.. But, obviously I did make the wrong choice.. And, we all make mistakes.

Passion to me comes in many shapes and forms..

And, yeah guess Jesus will have to do that one huh.............although don't the Government make money out of Churches? Tax. Consequently, they be allowed to get away with alot, all-be-it we are not talking of all churches, rather a few that hide behind the word, for greed.
