I guess Pet Setanta would be the sequel of Cujo.

@reasoning logic,
I actually watched that, brilliant build up to the goal. Either you like that or you don't.

York City are a very minor Football team, most schoolboys dream of playing in a top Premiership side like Manchester United or Chelsea.

York was once a Northern Capital, it was founded by the Vikings, and there's loads of history there. It's still the capital of Yorkshire, but has been overshadowed in importance by the industrial cities of Hull, Leeds and Sheffield.

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
I have a question for all of you.

Seems like the right thread.

Today, for me it's Mother's Day... My Grandmother was my soul, she was my wisdom... I love my Mother but her Mother died when I was 25, today she cried, she still can not cope.

Point being, I would like to know how many of you visit a grave of a loved one.. I did today with my Mother as much of a shock it was to her, that I was there, I think she wanted it to be her time, Dad was over the moon I did that... followed them and was late in giving my Dog his diabetic injection.

And, if you do visit a grave, then doesn't that tell you something? ....

In all that we discuss... At the end of the day... We miss someone... To believe that they can hear us and be there is worth more than this shirt, of who, what, science, catholic.................

Today, I felt nothing, and said to my Mother, I don't need to be here to know she is there............

But, bottom line is... We all deal with death differently...

Just be real for once... Everyone has visited their loved ones somewhere along the line.

And, in that... it's called respect but there is some form of belief that they know where are there.

If you think different, surely you are kidding yourself.

Regardless of what you believe.

I do not recall ever doing it. To me when people die they are gone. I still suffer their loss I just am not one to get into all the rituals that others do when someone dies. I wish that I could save the money when I die and just be thrown into a hole and covered back up with dirt. That is how much I respect my dead corps.

Yep.. That your mind is able to wander and be very creative.

I think you may be correct I do think that all of our minds may have an ability to wander when it comes to the loss of loved ones.

I see it opposite as you when it comes to kidding ourselves. I think it is psychological "normal" for our brains to respond in some way to the loss of a loved one and if that way is to talk to the dead person in your own head, then it is what it is.

@FOUND SOUL,
The only tomb I have ever visited was that of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey. The reason was that the great-grandfather of a lady I was quite friendly with at the time had been a pall-bearer at the internment. She was researching her family tree, contrary to my strenuous advice, and had identified this gentleman out of the raft of wankers and toss-pots, sluts and slags, who made up the rest of her family tree, as the one which she felt best reflected her genetic material so that I was not allowed to be unaware of what a classy broad I had in tow.

In my many journeyings through small towns and villages I always
notice War Memorials. They all have one. In a small village there is often only three or four names. Always men of course. Young men mainly.

Always, also, there are fresh flowers set on the base and the memorial is within a patch of carefully tended ground. I have never seen any vandalism or other marks of disrespect on any of these "remember me" temples.

A few times, when I have been on foot, I have stopped and read through all the names. Even when there are a lot. I know many men with similar names.

"Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you.
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you."

Bob Dylan. It's All Over Now Baby Blue. (But try to see the Woodstock Version. If ever a dirge could break a cynic's heart it is that.)

You're the one who watches his videos, I'm the one who told you he was a nut.

As for football, today has been one of the most dramatic days in its history.

@spendius,
I am tired of defending myself to you Spendi, and do not believe, I should have to do it anymore....

So I want to shift it to your beliefs for a second, and ask you some questions....

You told me to judge away...I am not gonna judge you, I am just interested in your answers to some questions...And what you think about them?? And, Have you ever even thought about them before...? etc...

It says in scripture, judge not be not judged....It says in scripture, if you judge someone, you will be judged the same way in return, using the same reed or measuring stick that you did to others...

So, these are my questions to you....

Do you believe Judging someone is what the Christian faith is about? If so or not, please explain...

Do you understand that that means you will be judged in return? By men? and God?? please explain....

Are you saying you're prepared to be judged your whole life, for judging others?? please explain...

Are you aware that God is going to Judge you the same way you judge others n return one day?? please explain....

If you accept all of that, please explain to me...Why or how you are ok, with the fact of knowing God is going to judge you, for you judging others, rather than just granting you into Heaven?

What is your logic behind, that is the best method??

@reasoning logic,
Sorry mate, but it does not sound very believable....What Found said sounds more realistic indeed....

The fact that people's minds wander or not, (as you call it) still shows...that humans would like to have an afterlife....

And would not like to rot in the ground forever....And that a God and afterlife, would not be such a bad thing after all...

And he is not evil like many say....

I know you said it, but it is too hard to believe...You have NEVER visited a grave site ever???, really??

Did you forget that Spendius is an atheist and is only into Christianity for social reasons, regardless if he is promoting a lie, that people like you will fall for and preach it as if it were truth?

No, I never knew that....thanks...So Spendi is this true?

And you honestly think you could tell a believer of Christ, how wrong they are?? Why???

What makes you believe you understand a theism better than a theist does???

It is now even more shameful to me, that if this is true...You honestly think that judging me, and calling me a fake Christian, when your not even a full Christian yourself...Is acceptable....

Too sad indeed! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Could it be because it was people like Spendius that got modern day Christianity going in the first place?

What makes you so sure that all of what you believe was not given to society by atheists like Spendius to control your behavior? Can you imagine that there are people with mores like Spendius that think we should behave as he thinks fit, even if you have to fed a lie in the process?
