First, i asked "How many universities in the United States," and got this reply from "Askville" at Amazon-dot-com:

Quote:
It seems like universities are generally counted together with colleges. So here is the answer from the Association of American Colleges and Universities. It says there are two thousand six hundred eighteen accredited four-year colleges and universities. Most operate privately or as part of state governments.

There was another reply there that listed exactly the same number, but i didn't quote it here, because it also had the same source.

I then asked "How many religious universities in the United States," and that was a little more difficult. However, i found the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (the link is to their "members and affiliates" page), and found this:

Quote:
The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) is an international association of intentionally Christian colleges and universities. Founded in 1976 with 38 members, the Council has grown to 116 members in North America and 69 affiliate institutions in 25 countries.

You're not even close, Bubba.

@Setanta,
You do realize that none of that **** you posted really answers what I had originally stated right??? It is that 70 of every 100 were Founded by Christians....

Not what current percent of Universities are under a group called the CCCU!!!

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
I have voted people down before but I doubt that I have voted you down in the past and if I have I do not recall the reason. I only vote down people who do not care what they say or if they are very wrong and even though I think you are very wrong you have been an exception of not being voted down.

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
Actually, you said "God's people," which has an entirely difffferent implication altogether. Given the fact that the population of the United States is overwhelmingly christian, it is even more hilarious to suggest that 30 out of 100 universities were not founded by christians.

Oh, and your link? You're not allowed to link to people's personal blogs. The site is not here to promote peoples' personal blogs.

I will back you up when I think you are correct but I will also laugh to myself when I see something very funny and I am not making fun of you.

So sorry, I did not know this being here for 2 months....But a nice way or attempt to dodge the fact you can not admit you were wrong....

And I linked it, which you said was bullshit, and someone was attempting to persecute me, or some bullshit, and I was a legend in my own mind....

As far as the above....And God's people....If you thought that that was what I meant....Would you not say something like....76-94% are Christian in the US....Or Would you not have tried to post some CCCU stuff....If you did not understand me???

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
You are a legend in your own mind--you claim god talks to you, you claim you're a prophet, you claim people persecute you. News flash, Bubba, you ain't that important.

The majority of universities in the United States were founded as secular institutions, not religious institutions. By using the term "God's people," you made it seem as though universities in the U.S. were founded by deeply religious people, for religious purposes. That's just not so.

But now you have a different problem. If 30 out of 100 universities were not founded by "God's people," who did found them? Atheists? Agnostics?

You can't beat this place for free entertainment.

It is just like your stubbornness to cling to the 30% rather than the 70%....

I will answer your question after you answer mine....

What does that say about Religion being against Science like Atheists believe??

And so much for atheists saying that probability is important!!

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
I'm not answering your questions just because you want to be a bully. If you want an answer to your questions, then answer mine. Upon what basis do you claim that atheists say religion is against science? Certainly some religious loonies think science is the boogie man, but the majority of people in the United States profess some form of religion, and i've never seen any evidence that the majority are against religion. I've never know atheists to make such a claim, either. What atheists told you probability is important, and what possible relevance can that have here?

So who founded the other 30%? Satanists? Man, you crack me up.

I would say that most atheist think that religious people are not willing to use the scientific method when questioning the reality of their own religion, no matter what the religion is.

@Setanta,
If you're not going to answer mine then I am not going to answer yours!

Quote:

Almost every atheist on here says that except you!

Quote:

It is not, but there is currently close to 15-20% Irreligious here....My position comes from Atheists who claim this....religious do not claim it, that is my point...Why would religious be apposed to Science, When the majority of founders of Universities were Christian....If you want the answer the other way around, then go ask your fellow atheists why they feel that way.....

Quote:

Well they have, go back and reread all 218 pages if you would like, Because I am certainly not gonna do it....Not when I link something, and you can not fess up to admit you were wrong anyways....

Quote:

About 3 I can think of, but again I will leave them out of it...I don't trust you....

I should re-type it....Math percentages that suggest the majority, not minority....

Atheists harp about math, so here it is....70% were Christian, and 30% were not....Yet you cling to the 30% when it is the minority....233% at least more religious Founders than non, got science going....In the US....

Why?

Why would 70% of the founders be Christian then? Surly they knew God if he is real....And clearly they believed he was, If they were Christian....And clearly someone would have seen where atheists have taken science against religion...no?? Why did they not stop it then? Why would God allow it to happen? This makes atheists look like the bad guys not religious, like atheists claim....The very main principal they embrace, was most likely founded by a man of God....How is religion bogus? How is it not practical, useful, or right?

The very thing you cling to (science) to try to disprove it (religion, God), was mostly started by the ones you deny did just that....
