You don't see a political statement here? Most of us, including me, seem to see this picture as creepy. It is men "objectifying" a woman who clearly doesn't want the attention.

But my point is that this picture isn't journalism. It is a work of art that provides an insight into the feelings of a particular artist. There is no context provided. There are no facts to be gleaned from this picture. There is no evidence of anything.

Many people see this picture as a statement of sexual oppression of women. And it is that.

But is an artistic statement, and perhaps a political one. It isn't anything more than that and it certainly isn't a factual statement.

It is like that all over the world. Most guys would not harm the girl. They appreciate her beauty. Only criminals in the back alleys would be cause for alarm. An innocuous wolf whistle isn't rape. Those who feel threatened have been seeing too many horror movies. 99% of the times guys merely look and appreciate looking at her.

Looking at the photo it seems a little aggressive with the guy wearing the tie. She walking to the corner and the guy in front in not invading her space. He is merely rude by not standing aside to let her pass.

Actually, I found the remark insulting as well, and condescending.

I wasn't going to make any more of a deal about it, since I thought I'd done enough by placing it on your perpetual motion merry-go-round of "maybe, maybe not, could be, probably not, we can't know, blah blah blah"

I mean, why bother, you'd just respond with another luke warm, could go either way response.
