Photos of readers (how fast are books becoming passe?)

Or, are they?

Here's the Slate link re the magnum series on Readers, 23 photos.

http://todayspictures.slate.com/20100122/

The one I like least is the first one - favorite may be the Kerouac reader.

And yours?

This makes me want to see if I can find other photos with the same theme(s).

"Engrossed in her reading
she waited until the train stoped
doors opened
and at the "ding"
without taking eyes of her book
she jumped on
before it swooshed again...
The girl's a pro!"

this pic reminds me of finding a dew covered book on a picnic table early one morning while walking down near the beach in Kagawong on the Manitoulin Island

Very Happy I so love this photograph! They have to use more books to keep the cat propped up! Laughing

You have to wonder if this lady would have regretted the arrival of the Gutenburg Press:

@ossobuco,
I wonder if my Gimp program can zoom in on the title.... As of now, I can't tell what the title is.

@tsarstepan,
Sorry Ossobuco! I failed at basic computer forensics. I guess I won't be hired by the CBS studio as a forensics consultant for CSI: Miami. Confused

@tsarstepan,
I have a magnifying glass by the computer (that I used to need more than I do now, whew) and I still couldn't tell. But, maybe I can enlarge it with view and then see. I doubt they are all books related to cats, but wondering. It's a jolly photo in any case...

@tsarstepan,
I think the first word starts with G (or maybe C) and is six letters and the second starts, for sure, with M and is, maybe, ten letters. Veddy interesting...
Oh, but wait, what is the cat reading?

@ossobuco,
Have to add that I think this photo is gorgeous (and captures the intensity of reading). Now I want to look at more of dsevilla's photos on flickr..

One of my favorite photos of people reading... cadets at the Virginia Military Institute (that's where my brother went to college!) reading "Howl".

@CalamityJane,
I can't say I liked this one, CJ - reminds me of the first photo of the magnum series, that no reader would read like that for any amount of time, so it's a pose.
Not that I mind the pose, but that I don't get that it is as much about reading as other aspects of the pose.
