The original movie came out at a time when old Golden Age Hollywood cartoons were still widely popular. Most of the old Hollywood cartoons have been released to DVD and a lot of them they don't show on TV anymore.

This is the 21st century- do people still care about them? Are people really going to be interested in a sequel?

I read somewhere the sequel is set to take place in the '50s and the filmmakers are going to feature cameos from Golden Age characters that weren't in the original.

What villain would they use for the sequel? Judge Doom was killed off in the original.
