Anyone happy about Roger Rabbit 2 coming out?

I am, somewhat. I grew up watching the original one. At first they said making a sequel would be problemic, but according to Wikipedia a sequel is on its way. I am wondering since the original is over two decades old how they are going to pull this off without Speilberg and without Hoskins being involved. Bob Hoskins is too old to reprise his role as Eddie Valiant.

@JGoldman10,
I'm a big Roger Rabbit fan as it was 1 of the colourful animated movies I saw when I was 11.

@JGoldman10,
How could you watch that if you believe roger shouldn't be married, and especially to someone that looks like jessica rabbit?

@chai2,
Jessica is a CARTOON-you weirdo. I didn't watch the movie for that- I watched it for the Hollywood cartoon characters that cameoed in it.

This movie was made to pay homage to old Hollywood cartoons from the Golden Age.

As a kid I viewed Jessica as a cartoon and that is how I still view her. I didn't watch the movie to see her.

I didn't say Roger shouldn't have been married. I said it was weird you had a toon rabbit married to a human toon.

@Adamblacky,
I saw the original when I was 12. It was months before they put it out on VHS.

@chai2,
I don't lust after cartoon characters- and techincally that would be lusting after a married woman.

The new movie is supposed to take place in the '50s and they siad the characters that didn't appear in the original film were set to cameo in the second, which include:

Mighty Mouse
Popeye
Pepe Le Pew
Tom and Jerry
Chilly Willy

Elmer Fudd did briefly appear in the first- I hope they will give him a much bigger cameo this time.

One has to be severely autistic not to get that obvious reaction the filmmakers intended to get from their audience when the designed Jessica as a parody/caricature of a ubersexy seductress/Golden Era Hollywood actress.

Jaws are supposed to drop, eyes are supposed to become cemented on, and all conversation stopped when the character was introduced into the film. Even single cell asexual amoebas are supposed to get a gut/aesthetic reaction to her build and overly friendly personality.

BTW: The sequel doesn't have any encouraging information let alone a production status on its relevant IMDb page. For all we know, the whole concept would be scratched and never make it beyond even the planning stages considering how long it's taking between your wiki page's date of project conception and now.

Until the IMDb page is updated, I'll consider this project a delusional whim albeit a nice one considering I truly love the original film and can see great story possibilities for a sequel.

@tsarstepan,
Some people think a sequel would be too clunky - the original came out in the late '80s- they should have had a sequel out before now- sometime in the '90s at least.
