@Diane,
Diane-We are planning to drive to Arizona right after Labor Day. I say, "planning", because I am still not convinced that we will be able to pull it off.

It seems that between me and Mr. P. there seems to be one thing happening after the other. I figure that this will be the last time that we will be able to make a trip that long, (but I said that last year too.)

As of now, I am taking things one step at a time. If we can, and it is a big "if", we will call you when we are in your area, either coming or going. It will have to be a last minute thing, but we hope that we can get to see you.

My sincere thank you to all of you who have expressed concern about me.

I do tend to hibernate, feeling that I have nothing to say and, since Bob died I've felt totally useless. No voice, just keeping busy around the house.

As far as the meeting in September, no one said anything after the early mention of it, so I assumed that it wasn't going to happen.My door is open to any a2kers, so if some of you would like to come, you are welcome.

The last week in September is when I plan to drive up to the Rio Grande Gorge to let Bob's ashes fly into the air and wander to all the places he so loved. If any of you could come then, it would be wonderful. The Gorge is north of Taos, so it is, maybe, a three hour drive. I was planning on spending that night in Taos and coming home the following day. If that would fit into anyone's plans, I would love to have you there.

Bob's cousin and her husband will be there and the partner of Bob's brother will be there, I hope. It could turn out to be a wonderful gathering of friends.

Love to all.
Sturgis

@Diane,
You'll start speaking up, posting a bit more when you're ready. One of the few wise things my mother said (at least that I recall) was that there's no set time for grieving. You take your time and know there are plenty of people thinking of you and for you to fully heal from your loss.

@Diane,
Glad to see you here again, Diane! And thanks for posting these news!

I really would love to come (and I/we do like Taos as well!).
Unfortunately, I have to be in Germany in September.

I'm sure, Diane, that you'll hold your dominion!
Don't rush to post, do what you want.

@Walter Hinteler,
Walter, I loved that you used Noddy's advice to "Hold your dominion." I didn't really understand it when I first started reading her threads, but now I appreciate it more than I can say.

I will miss you this year. I always loved to hear you and Bob discuss everything in the world.

@Sturgis,
Your post was both meaningful and kind, Sturgis. Good advice is priceless.

I miss Bob's accounts of Walter's visits. "Walter and the Concept of Locks" is a classic thread. Walter's photos of New Mexico were beautiful. Walter's portraits of Bob and Diane were better than most professional photographers. I know that Walter is at least semi-professional (his photos have been published in calendars).

I've been away. I went out of town to work, just recently got back.

I am so sorry to hear that Bob is gone.
He was wise and wry and funny to read. I loved the relationship between Diane and Bob. I loved the love.

I am so sorry Diane.

I haven't read all this thread, and I certainly will, but I needed to say at least this.

A few of us will scatter Bob's ashes on October 1st at the Rio Grande Gorge, a few miles north of Taos, NM. If anyone would like to join us, please let me know.

This isn't just for Bob's long time friends, it is also for those of you who only knew Bob on a2k and enjoyed his posts and being an online friend. Please feel free to join us.

I'm booking a flight this weekend. I'll be there.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Diane and reminiscing about Bob. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see a few others in ABQ, too, but I won't be there long due to my teaching schedule.
