Hi Diane,

I'm Gracie and I'm 13 and I guess I'm still kinda new here. I joined maybe 2 months ago. Anyway, I know you don't know me but I've heard a lot about you and your husband and It just sucks. I'm really sorry that your hurting. I won't lie and say that I know how you feel because I don't. I've never lost someone that I loved soo much before but I can imagine how you must be feeling. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that your going through a rough time and your hurting. But your not alone. Your obviously an awesome person and so was your husband because there's SOO many people here at a2k that seems to really love and care about you both.

I know you don't know me and I don't really know you that well either but you seem like an awesome, strong, brave, funny and sweet person. I mean, you HAVE to be. I mean just look at how many people that are here for you! You've got to be really awesome to have that many great friends right?

Well anyway, sorry I kinda ramble a lot sometimes and I lose track of what I'm trying to say. I meant to keep it short. Sorry but yeah anyway. I know your hurting and its sucks and your going through a rough time but it'll get better and your strong enough to get through it, I think. I hope all your pain goes away one day real soon and you start to feel happy again like your husband would have wanted. Smile GoodNite!

-Gracie Very Happy

@GracieGirl,
Gracie, you post was lovely and I tend to ramble too, so don't feel bad about it.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness, I appreciate your kindness.

BTW, I fit right in with your signature line.

There will be quite a few people present to scatter Bob's ashes. Thomas RSVP'd, Roger and osso will come depending on weather, and Eva will be here. Shewolfnm told me that she is staying with me for five days.

Some of Bob's relatives will come, making for a good group.

My husband loved M&M's. Every Father's Day the kids and grandkids throw some into the lake in his memory (and eat the rest).

Jay's ashes are in my garden, all around the house. It is comforting to know he is in this yard, with me, as I do my favorite thing, gardening.

A few pinches were thrown on some golf courses by buddies and I have about a 1/4 cup left. Just holding on to them.

For some reason, I like it that they are in the cupboard. Weird, huh?

I hope you save a pinch or two for yourself.

@PUNKEY,
Oh yes, Punkey, I have already thrown some in the garden (and the tomatoes, while late, are coming out as fast as they can).

I am saving some for my sons. Even though they aren't Bob's sons and were in their early thirties when Bob and I got together, they grew to love him in the few years we had together.

Like you, I have saved some for myself, to have until I die.

@Diane,
I want to share just one more memory of Bob. Both of us loved a movie called "The Return of Martin Guerre." Have you seen that movie, Diane? It is both beautiful and thought-provoking.

@Diane,
It's exactly one year ago that I've finished that tour, Bob had planned for me ... and that we did again this year, before his death.

He always said that he knew in what I was interested - so I just had to give the time I wanted to drive ... (but he forgot about Labor Day last year Wink )

@Diane,
I am glad that there will be sweet people around you when you scatter Bob's
ashes. Up there in Taos on that bridge is a perfect place for Bob - so serene and it's kind of a special place too! You don't see the beauty of it right away, only when spending some time there and soaking it in - a bit like Bob himself.

I might not be able to go there this September, but someday I will and knowing that Bob is there in ashes and spirit, will make it all the more special.

My thoughts will be with you and Bob, Diane! We talked quite often on the phone, while you were still asleep in the morning. Our topic mostly revolved around social services and children and I was happy that we did
see eye to eye on many issues pertaining to that subject. His input gave
me reassurance!
