@RexRed,
Quote:
For advocates of women's rights to reproductive health care this is good news up to a point. It is likely that this issue will find its way back to the supreme court and I wouldn't take any bets on how they would rule on it.

Wouldn't it be nice to be pleasantly surprised for once?

Awww, c'mon. You guys are just piling on the Republicans here in A2K.

I knew a Republican once...back when I was a lot younger...who did not say those things...or at least, not ALL of those things.

The voters obviously don't like what's been going on. Repeat that you're right as much as you want.

Which is probably why they voted Obama in twice.

Refresh mine instead, Brandon. Why was it that Obama was elected and re-elected to the presidency during the last two presidential elections.

@Frank Apisa,
By the way, I do not have the figures for the 2014 election, but for the 2012 election, the vote for the House favored the Democrats by 1.4 million votes (1.2% of the total vote)…yet the House still ended up with a 17 seat majority for the Republicans.

So the vote really does not reflect general attitude, Brandon, but instead reflects gerrymandering and other factors that benefit Republicans and conservatives at the expense of the general attitude.

But good for you guys...and bask in it while you can. Other elections are coming...and I suspect the smugness will be coming from the other side after them. In the meantime, enjoy watching these miscreants further screw our country.

So, you decline to answer. Obama was elected because at the time of the two elections, the people preferred him over his opponents. I could ask why Bush was elected twice, but I won't. Now that I've answered your question, will you answer mine? Why did Republicans win so many elections earlier this month? It's obvious why you'd rather not answer. All gerrymandering a few days ago? Nothing at all to do with popularity?

I never said it had nothing to do with popularity.

It did.

Obviously the people just love the congress...which probably accounts for the fact that 94% of the congress was returned to office. Seems a bit in conflict with the fact that the congress only has an approval rating of 13% favorable...but what can you say.

Yes, the Republicans won a HUGE victory this election.

Are you saying it has nothing to do with gerrymandering...or the other Constitutional factors that favor the Red votes?

What do you say to the fact that the votes for the House of Representatives favored the Democrats by over a million votes in 2012...yet the Republican got a 17 seat majority in that chamber? Is the process NOT set up to favor that side...rather than indicating primarily the popularity of the positions?

And since I am responding to everything here, why are you accusing me of wanting rather not to answer???
