MR. RUSSERT: Before you go, you know there's been enormous speculation about your political future. Will you serve your full six-year term as U.S. senator from Illinois?

SEN.-ELECT OBAMA: Absolutely. You know, a little--some of this hype's been a little overblown. It's flattering, but I have to remind people that I haven't been sworn in yet. I don't know where the rest rooms are in the Senate. I'm going to have to figure out how to work the phones, answer constituent mail. I expect to be in the Senate for quite some time, and hopefully I'll build up my seniority from my current position, which I believe is 99th out of 100

Yea, black men are made president every day! Barrack Obama should have known! (cynical)

And now we know how hateful the GOP can be when a black man actually does become president...

Republicans Celebrate Veterans Day By Dishonoring Veterans In Word And Deed

@RexRed,
I have to feel real sorry for American stupidity. American voters get what they vote for.

From politicususa.com.
Quote:
The bill, H.R. 3474, consists of one amendment to the Internal Revenue Code to give large employers authority to exclude former service members from having access to employer-provided healthcare. The estimated number of jobs for Veterans is zero, and in the less-than one page text of the bill, there is not provision in the legislation to hire “more heroes” whatsoever and the word jobs or hiring are not to be found; that should not surprise anyone. Republicans could not care less about Veterans, or as they call them, “America’s Heroes,” except using them for a title of a bill inspired by the Koch brothers.

For the past nearly six years, Republicans have adopted extreme measures, and proffered outrageous arguments, to oppose President Obama and congressional Democrat’s myriad initiatives and legislation to help Veterans find any kind of work, access job training, or get the benefits a nation that “supports the troops” would provide. In fact, after Republicans blocked several of the President’s jobs initiatives for Veterans, he had to take matters into his own hands and announce that 50,000 Veterans would receive training in the growing solar panel industry. When Republicans take control of the entire Congress in January, the President’s order will go the way of every other Veteran’s jobs initiative from this President; straight to abolishment. It is the Republican idea of how not to hire, and dishonor, Veterans they call “America’s Heroes.”

@RexRed,
Why don't they provide the full reading of the bill? I knew this wasn't passing the smell test... and I was right. The stupid in this article is strong.

Quote:
Passed House without amendment (03/11/2014)

(This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here, with an updated short title.)

Hire More Heroes Act of 2014 - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to permit an employer, for purposes of determining whether such employer is an applicable large employer and thus required to provide health care coverage to its employees under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, to exclude employees who have coverage under a health care program administered by the Department of Defense (DOD), including TRICARE, or the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

You will notice the missing section that I put in bold. It really makes the article sound pathetic.

@Baldimo,
Doesn't change the fact that the legislation has nothing to do with creating jobs for vets.

@cicerone imposter,
Sure it does, it lowers the cost to the employer to hire that vet if he already has insurance coverage from the VA. This would be an incentive to employers to hire vets.

Besides the entire complaint that Rex and the article were TRYING to convey had to so with prior service being told they couldn't get insurance via the company. They were implying that vets were getting screwed by the GOP. Which we know by the full reading of the bill isn't even close to the truth. Rex and the article lied and you are trying to cover for their incompetence.

@Baldimo,
Tell that to all those employers. Many vets are homeless and walking our streets with PTS.

Do you have any stats on how many vets were hired based on the insurance issue only? I think not.

How is this the duty of a private employer? Are they suppose to force a vet to go to treatment for their PTSD? Are they suppose to chain them to a desk to force them to do work? As others on the left have pointed out, you can't make people work, that would be slavery.

Has this bill been voted on in the Senate and signed by the President? I think not. As with almost all bills passed in the House, it was held up in the Senate and not passed. So it would be a little hard to get stats on something that was never signed by the President.

ABC and NBC Censor ObamaCare Architect Calling American Voters 'Stupid'

Hmm. I wonder why? Is there any reason to even listen to network news. Time and again the selective, bias reporting is exposed. Progressives cannot stand the truth and encourage deception by omissions like this.

Luckily(for progressives) there are plenty of stupid people. A good many of them right here.
