@bobsal u1553115,
Proves my point that it was useless to vote. Too many voters are clueless on what they vote for. TNCFS

If you can't fight em, join em. It's less stressful that way! LOL

NAACP Statement On Midterm Elections Fails To Mention Tim Scott And Mia Love’s Historic Wins

Hmm. Why would they not acknowledge these milestones in Black history?
Can you say racist? I know you can.

Why, if your amendment is so bloody marvellous, do people around the World watch the BBC and pay no attention to American news channels?

Your government is legally free, any time it feels like it, to forbid the press to report and our government is not. Therefore, your initial statement that you have more freedom than Americans is false. There may be extraordinary cases where prior restraint could be exercised on our press, although the Constitution forbids it, but your government can act at will to forbid your press to report.

@Brandon9000,
I never said that, I said we could bet on your presidential elections and you couldn't because you were freer than us.

Try to keep up.

It's not a question of a sense of humor. It seems very odd to suddenly post on a message board, "my country's better than yours" as a complete non sequitur.

@Brandon9000,
I never said that, I posted an offhand remark about freedom after being lectured to incessantly by right wing Americans about how much freer you all are. Of course I was forgetting that right wingers have no sense of humour whatsoever.

So, I can just suddenly post, "my country is better than England" in a thread about English elections as a complete non sequitur to the actual discussion because at some time in the past I have heard English people brag about it? That sounds like a character disorder.

@Brandon9000,
I have to agree with you to the extent of his remark being designed to get a rise out of the blue to the posters in this thread, plus it wasn't even funny. Personally, I just ignored it. I guess with a lot of posters caught up in the US elections, the others didn't have much to add and had to make something up out of the blue.

It's over now and republicans were not in fact voted out of office so I guess this thread is sort of useless except for crowing I guess.

@coldjoint,
Not racist, just not the party which represents their ideals. Having said that, congratulations on their historic win.

Precisely, Revelette. Not every Republican I have ever met has been an avowed racist...but every avowed racist I've ever met has proudly identified him/herself...as a conservative and a Republican.

@Frank Apisa,
That has also been my experience. For decades.

Just a minor example: In the late 1960s, I went to high school in the congressional district that was represented by George Herbert Walker Bush for four years. Most of the students were conservative Republicans or supporters of the opportunist George Wallace, who was a segregationist at that time. I was a junior when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. I saw more joy on the part of my classmates than I did when the summer break began.

Like the Democratic governor George Wallace standing in front of a university to stop black students from entering. Your identity politics has failed.

Actually, I never met Wallace.

Allow me to make my initial statement again...the one you quoted:

...but every avowed racist I've ever met has proudly identified him/herself...as a conservative and a Republican.

So I ask again:

You can read English, right?

And now let me tell you that it means ****. Your personal relationships have nothing to do with the facts unless they pertain to you only. Do you get that, or are you too thick?

Is that a YES or NO to my question?
