For those like coldjoint who never do anything but bash Obama, I think it's important to show just how full of crap the nay-sayers are, according to no less an unabashedly capitalistic organization like Forbes, as cited by Rex above:
Quote:
A new economic report, published by Forbes.com on September 6, 2014, clearly shows that President Obama is the best economic president in modern times. It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact, based on all of typical the economic indicators, including jobs, investments, growth and expansion, even the rate of inflation. In all of these areas President Obama’s record outperforms that of every other modern president, including conservative idol, Ronald Reagan.

Under President Obama’s leadership, the unemployment rate has now decreased to 6.1 percent, the lowest it’s been since 2007, when the economy began gushing jobs under the failed leadership of then president George W. Bush.

Typically, republicans have tried to detract from the president’s accomplishments. When it comes to the falling unemployment rate, they claim that it is somehow related to large numbers of people just dropping out of the workforce. This would almost be believable if the economy wasn’t creating new jobs at a rate that coincides perfectly with the falling employment rate, but it is. There have been six consecutive months with more than 200,000 new jobs created, with only a slight dip in that number in August. Additionally, there have been 63 straight months of economic expansion and more than two solid years of manufacturing expansion.

In order to satisfy Obama’s conservative critics, Forbes compared the economy under President Obama to that of Ronald Reagan, who the GOP often touts as the best economic president of our times. It’s no surprise to discover that even with many additional obstacles in his path, Forbes concluded that:

“President Obama’s administration has outperformed President Reagan’s in all commonly watched categories.”

In order to complete the analysis, Forbes interviewed Bob Deitrick, CEO of Polaris Financial Partners. The company’s newsletter is reported to be one of the most reliable authorities on economic performance in the country. Here’s what Deitrick had to say about President Obama’s job creation record, when compared to that of President Reagan.

“President Reagan has long been considered the best modern economic President. So we compared his performance dealing with the oil-induced recession of the 1980s with that of President Obama and his performance during this ‘Great Recession.’

As this unemployment chart shows, President Obama’s job creation kept unemployment from peaking at as high a level as President Reagan, and promoted people into the workforce faster than President Reagan.

President Obama has achieved a 6.1% unemployment rate in his 6th year, fully one year faster than President Reagan did. At this point in his presidency, President Reagan was still struggling with 7.1% unemployment, and he did not reach into the mid-low 6% range for another full year. So, despite today’s number, the Obama administration has still done considerably better at job creating and reducing unemployment than did the Reagan administration.

We forecast unemployment will fall to around 5.4% by summer, 2015. A rate President Reagan was unable to achieve during his two terms.”

According to Forbes, this is not only the best private sector job growth in modern history:

“This is the best private sector jobs creation performance in American History.”

Deitrick also made it clear that President Obama has not achieved this reduction in unemployment because of a shrinking workforce, but in spite of it.

“What’s now clear is that the Obama administration policies have outperformed the Reagan administration policies for job creation and unemployment reduction. Even though Reagan had the benefit of a growing Boomer class to ignite economic growth, while Obama has been forced to deal with a retiring workforce developing special needs. During the 8 years preceding Obama there was a net reduction in jobs in America. We now are rapidly moving toward higher, sustainable jobs growth.”

As a final note, President Obama has managed to outperform Ronald Reagan in all of these areas, while at the same time, reducing the national debt. On the other hand, Reagan greatly expanded the debt, and still failed to achieve in eight years, what President Obama has achieved in only six.

Help us get the word out!

Reagan fucked up. Bush fucked up. Thank the gods the American people, despite hysterical GOP opposition, had the good sense to elect Obama twice.

Tea Party Militia Group Threatens to Arrest Democrats at Polling Places!

Posted by: Josh Kilburn in Election 2014, Gun Nuts in Action, Most Popular on AATTP, Racism in America, TEApublicans in Action September 22, 2014
Republish Reprint

If you want more evidence that the difference between Mussolini’s Blackshirts and the current state of the Tea Party is only about 70 years, here’s a story out of Wisconsin where a self-proclaimed “Poll Watcher” militia group announced they will confront Democratic voters at the polls on November 4 over outstanding warrants or tax defaults.

The group, named the Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia, claims that it’s going to check names on the 2012 recall petition for Republican Gov. Scott Walker and confront those voters that they believe are wanted on warrants. They said on Twitter that they would be “targeting heavily democrat districts, so it is doubtful” that any Republicans would be reported.

So yes, this is just a thinly veiled excuse to bully people away from the polls. This is the same stunt pulled by Mussolini’s Blackshirts; the only difference is that they’ve gotten better at lying about their intentions. Not much better, mind you.

And if the presence of a group with “militia” in their name wasn’t enough, the group posted on Facebook that they “prefer our people be armed.” They continued:

“We prefer our people be armed. Some will be heading to some of Milwaukee, Racine, and Beloit’s worst areas. We will be armed with a list of people to look for at each location.”

The group has asked its Facebook users to privately send names of active voters who were wanted on warrants, so that they could be arrested:

We can get our agents to watch their polling location, identify the individual, and then follow them to their residence.

They promised to call the police and have would-be voters “picked up for processing.”

Politicus USA grabbed some screen captures of the Facebook posts, although those posts have since been made private by the group. Politicus noted that all of the photos posted by the group on Facebook showed black voters. The group, however, disputes Politcus’ accusation that they’re just targeting black voters. Oh no, they’re targeting all Democrats:

“We can assure you that we will be targeting all democrats, not just black ones. If you think we meant blacks only it is because you are a racist who thinks the only people with warrants are black. We know better because we have a nice list of people who are wanted democrat activist types. Most are actually white. We will target everyone.”

Except Republicans. And the super-wealthy who dodge their taxes by cramming their money into an Antiguan bank account. Or corporations. Or everyone who isn’t poor and destitute.

The militia is getting most of their information from the website Put Wisconsin First, which has been celebrated by Hot-Air Specialist, Rush Limbaugh:

Thanks to his hard work, we finally know who is not paying their fair share of taxes in Wisconsin.

Since the Facebook page has been taken down more than once since it was first reported, some people have speculated it’s a parody account. Shortly after they went private, the group made a decision to publicly post a video from the song, “Somebody’s Watching Me,” by Rockwell, and that may also suggest a parody account. Even if it’s not a parody account, however, it’s still a sad joke about the state of our society.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Since the time we posted this, the Wisconsin Daily Independent has revealed that the Wisconsin Poll Watcher’s Militia page is a fake: There is no actual militia, and — despite widespread alarm — the page was not targeting black voters. Yet, the fact that such a small Facebook page could generate such hysteria says something about Wisconsin’s toxic politics.

The fact that a small, and many say fake, Facebook page can derive so much attention speaks to the current state of affairs in Wisconsin politics and to the power that race plays within it.

And now another Facebook page is whining about how liberal blogs are unfairly trolling the Wisconsin Poll Watchers Militia page… But we say, if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. They should have known how people would react.

Because so many have dropped out of the work force. And a lot are under employed. Over half the jobs created are part time and the other half low paying. It looks good on paper and that is it.

How about the numbers to back that up? You would think Forbes would have those.

Under Reagan salaries and income rose for Americans. Under Obama wages have stagnated or dropped. Again, give the poor the paper, it looks so good on, to eat. And take your hands out off what is left in our wallets.

@coldjoint,
Specifically what "stimulus package" and what alleged "waste"?

Do you think if there was any scandal at all about this that Teapublicans would have wasted their time failing to rescind the ACA 55 times, having (how many?) Benghazi hearings, and much rending of garments over latte salutes and 'Presidential' umbrellas that Fox would not have been carrying this as hard news????

Hell that would be the stuff of Meet the Press, NBC, ABC, PBS, FOX, NBC, and an alphabet soup of news networks would love to have.

Just because Breitbach.com has a load of dateless Tea-istas worked up over this canard doesn't mean its news past the surprise that mopes like you take it seriously.

What's your idiot Congressman coming back to DC for two days this week? The fact we have no Ambassador to either Moscow or Turkey (among other nations), the war in the Levant, or the goof that got into the White House?

The goof.

You'd think that Teapublicans like Boehner and Ryan would be empathetic to part time service workers who are forced use social services - after all Congress is part time, too.

@Baldimo,
What about Bush and his four week war with flower throwing Iraqis cheering the troops? 12 years or so later as its still going on, that gets a pass from you, surely the President does, too. At least President didn't kill anyone and he didn't lie or make any excuses over what you even say were only "some projects not so quite ready for shovels".

Speaking of shovels - lets talk about some of those not ready shovel jobs, know of any yourself? Can you describe the terrible amount of funds wasted because work started later than planned?

I think you're trying to shovel something here yourself.

@bobsal u1553115,
You resort to Bush did this, or Bush did that. It is a very weak argument from you Bob. You asked "What wasted money". I provided you with Obama's own words that he used to sell a program that didn't work and had no "waiting jobs". What does Bush have to do with what you asked about?

Get over Bush. He hasn't been in office in 6 years. Obama is in office now and it is his leadership that matters. You guys have been throwing the Bush flag for far too long. Obama and his supports on the left, such as yourself, need to realize that.

Ah, I'm afraid life is just not that elementary. GWB left a path of destruction that is still lingering. When Bush left office the US was hemorrhaging jobs and we were on our way to a depression. By GWB illegally invading Iraq he unleashed the structure which held the ethnic groups: Shia and Sunnis Muslims, Kurds, etc., in place so there was no raging civil war. By destroying the framework Hussein created which held these ethnics in check who hated each other, we now have an UNSTABLE Iraq which is now fully vulnerable to forces like ISIS. GWB/Cheney invaded Iraq, they dismissed the Iraqi army who were left without jobs to feed their families, thereby creating a deadly force to fight the Americans. The US lost over 4, 485 military, hundreds injuried, many with multiple limbs....for many Americans, life will never ever be the same. ISIS is finding fertile ground in Iraq as we speak.

This, then, is the legacy of GWB, the consequences of the UNQUALIFIED Bush jr when he was president of the US. Lord help keep us safe from idiots with powerful influential friends who can sway the partisan United States Supreme Court. The US and the global universe is still suffering from that incompetent administration of GWB, the worse in American history.

You suggest we should get over GWB. Wow! How we wish we could do just that; alas, we are still trying to clean up his fuking mess! Besides, Obama has more than his share of problems with an obstructionist congress who hates the man because he is WHO HE IS! YOU, Baldimo, are in the very mold of these ultra hateful rightwing racists. If you were not you would not be blaming Obama for doing so much to right the wrong the moron GWB did!
