@JTT,
There's something particularly immoral about giving false hope to people in a completely hopeless situation to the point of encouraging them to risk their lives in vain. Today the House of Terror museum in Budapest displays portraits of brave young Hungarian men who took up arms against Soviet soldiers, only to be captured and executed. Their blood was shed in vain! (The Hungarian people were suspicious of the West for years afterwards.)

Gotta go for now.

Obama's New Asylum Decree Favors Muslims Over Christians

Another serious problem about Obama no one wants to deal with.

So much for gay rights.

Sheikh Mohammad Rateb al-Nabulsi was issued a visa for a 17-city tour of US mosques to raise money and support for the Syrian uprising. He arrived New Year’s Day.

The radical Syrian cleric has made no secret of his virulent anti-gay views. Appearing April 28, 2011, on al Aqsa TV, the official network of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza, al-Nabulsi said: “Homosexuality involves a filthy place and does not generate offspring. Homosexuality leads to the destruction of the homosexual. That is why, brothers, homosexuality carries the death penalty.

@coldjoint,
It would be the height of stupidity to keep out foreign leaders because they are anti-gay. It would probably mean excluding all Muslim leaders who are anti-gay, or anti-Jew.

Yet the State Department has rejected virtually all of the 20,000 asylum applications from Coptic Christians trying to escape Egypt since the toppling of its pro-American regime.

Assuming this report is true, this is absolutely outrageous! This should upset anyone concerned about human rights.

I've also heard reports that Coptic Christians in Iraq have been leaving that country. Amazingly enough, they seem to have fared better under Saddam than they are now!

He is a cleric. He has no role in any government. It is the height of hypocrisy to give this man a visa when all we hear is hate speech that liberals whine about.

@wmwcjr,
It's a large assumption wmwcjr.

The only place reporting it seems to be RW news sources.

According to other news sources there could be 20,000 - 30,000 asylum seeking Coptic Christians in the US.

You are implying if it does not come from the left it is not true. Can your mind get any narrower?

Or is it the left sees an ally with the same controlling agenda therefore it can't be bad. Wake up the Islamic doctrine is one of hate, sexism,and superiority. All the things the left supports by supporting Islamics.

It is very valid. We would be stupid to insult and bum out potential foreign leaders for no good reason. Just because you like gays, we should not expect everyone else to like them.

@Advocate,
You don't really mean this do you? Have to seen the hate and vitriol that has been directed at people who do not agree with gay rights? Americans who don't agree can STFU, but people from outside the US have the right to hate gay people? WOW!!!

You say that the Islamic doctrine is one of hate, superiority, and sexism. What a coincidence! That is the doctrine of the Republican party.

So in answer to your question MM. Should we end our global largesse and benefaction?
The answer is no.

So let me get this straight.
You post something that says that anything that happens anywhere outside of the US is not our business, but you also believe we should keep spending money everywhere as part of our global largesse?
We should continue to make other countries our business?

You cant have it both ways.

@mysteryman,
That is my stance MM. It seems we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. If they don't want our help as we want to offer it, then we shouldn't help at all. At this point I'm all for bringing everyone home and sealing the borders. Let the world live without the US for a few years. We will still be seen as bad guys, but at least it will leave us plenty of time and treasure to resolve our own issues.

Our foreign aid is peanuts. Moreover, we get a tremendous bang for the buck for the small change we give out.
