Almost as common as the chatter about Chris Christie's 2016 ambitious are the whispers about his weight.

Actually Chris Christie's Gastric Band surgery seems to be helping with his weight loss. There was a time when he weighed in the neighborhood of 500 lbs; one of his disgruntled fired aide spoke of this anonymously; he had accompanied Christi to the hospital when the governor almost passed out claiming he had forgotten his inhaler...... he suffers from asthma. If he continues losing weight, I'm sure the weight will not be the reason for his loss of the presidency. For those who do not know Christi, he did look extremely promising at one time for the exalted office he aspires to. Personally, I think this sinister character has blown his chances yesterday.

I agree; you can't alienate people with power, then hope to think his vengeance against his political foes has no effect.

The NSA only spies on political enemies? Does that mean that the enemy of your enemy is your friend so you are the friend of Al Qaeda?

He gets caught in a lie in Benghazi, then gets caught in a lie with the IRS, then gets caught in a lie with NSA, then the lies of Obamacare.

Like all LW's, you fake naivety in your blind support of this team of amateurs. That makes you all look foolish.
The amateurs are those that claim things happened when they didn't.

What lie did Obama tell about Benghazi? Or are we going to argue that telling Congress and the country what the CIA told you is classified as a lie?

What lie did Obama tell about the IRS? I can't wait to see what doozy you try to make up here.

What lie did Obama tell about the NSA?

Women's reproductive rights being taken away by the GOP men are not something women will forget. It impacts them and their daughters.

OK, now its up to you to show WHERE those rights have been "taken away".
Not restricted, not modified, but completely taken away.
Bet you cant do it.

Women should also have the right to castigate all men - by law!

They have that right, its called marriage.
And of course, if you have a mother, sister, aunt, female co-worker or boss, you have at one time or another been castigated by them.

@cicerone imposter,
I admit you have posted links to where the GOP has tried to modify or eliminate a womans right, but not where they have actually done it.

Unless you believe that any attempt to modify or regulate someones right is the same as eliminating that right.
If that's your position, then you have reversed yourself.

@cicerone imposter,
I'm not disagreeing with you. I just find it interesting that you have reversed yourself.

You believe that any attempt to regulate or alter in any way a womans right to choose is the same as taking that right away.
So, since you believe that, you must also believe that any attempt to regulate or alter ANY right, no matter what that right is, is taking that right away.

So, that means you agree that the "gun control" crowd has taken away my second amendment right, you agree that the laws regulating who can or cannot vote have taken away everyones right to vote, etc.

Since you're able to arrive at conclusions that I haven't made, it's a useless debate. You must enjoy arguing with yourself all the time! Mr. Green

Or, you believe that modifying a right is the same as eliminating it.

You're spot on,Ci. I would describe Christie's vindictive move (closing the lanes) as a gross abuse of power. If he acted in such a punitory manner as Governor, I'd hate to imagine what this unscrupulous creature would do to his perceived enemies if he attained the Presidency of the US. If it can be proven Governor Christi did surreptitiously have his aides close the lanes it would go against all ethical principles to nominate such a shady unpredictable character.

"Bob McDonnell Called 'Governor Vaginal Probe' By Virginia State Senator
Posted: 05/30/2012 12:39 pm

A Virginia state senator gave Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) a new nickname on Tuesday, resurrecting a fight over McDonnell's support for legislation that would have mandated women have a transvaginal ultrasound before getting an abortion."

Hopefully the new governor Democratic McAuliffe will take this law off the books and stop this war on women.

A Blue Texas? Wendy Davis Confirms She Will Run for Governor

SPREAD THE WORD!241321

Wendy Davis finally announced on Sunday, September 29, 2013 that she would be running for Governor of Texas while at an event at the Texas Tribune, a nonprofit news organization. Her formal announcement is expect to come this Thursday, October 3, 2013.

Wendy Davis gained national fame when she conducted an 11 hour filibuster against an anti-choice measure being pushed through the Texas Senate. The bill was being pushed through in the late hours, when many were not paying attention. By the time Wendy Davis finished, all of America was aware of what Republicans were trying to push through, and many supporters, most of which were women, came to the State capitol to protest the bill.

Oh there are more, lots more articles detailing the war on women's rights to control their own bodies. But I'm watching a movie; will talk to you later.

Justice Antonin Scalia, joined by Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito Jr., wrote that the challengers to the law had not met a heavy procedural burden in asking the Supreme Court to alter an appeals court’s provisional decision to let the law go into effect while it considers an appeal.

Excerpt above from your NYTimes' article. These three, Clarence Thomas (Lawn jockey), Antonin Scalia, a first-class asshole and Samuel Alito Jr who passed the law that will allow any amount of outside money towards political campaigns is obscene. Samuel Alito reminds me of the "thing from another world." All these jurists are shyster of SCOTUS, with Thomas and Scalito taking money from the Koch brothers so in effect Thomas and Scalito are working for the Koch brothers instead of the American people..

Dear Governor, can I have an abortion?
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2013/06/25/2210571/iowa-governor-medicaid-abortion-coverage/

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R) has approved a measure to expand his state’s Medicaid program under Obamacare, which will extend health coverage to tens of thousands of his poor residents. But there’s a catch buried in the Medicaid expansion legislation that the governor signed last week. Now, when low-income women on Medicaid seek insurance coverage for medically-necessary abortions, they’ll have to get approval from Branstad himself.

As Affordable Care Act enrollment numbers soar, the truth is slowly dawning on Republicans: their repeal crusade is over.

One far-right senator said the GOP has to recognize "reality." It's about time.

In a hilariously ironic twist, the star of the commercial has reason to *love* the Affordable Care Act.
