When Steve Bannon said on his show, on the day before the Jan 6 insurrection, “that all hell would cut lose tomorrow” it shows that he knew what was going to happen. Bannon first refused to testify before the Jan 6 Committee but now has decided to testify. Bannon is facing jail time for contempt of congress, and he thinks if he testifies now, it will save him from jail, but the judge let him know that testifying now will not make a difference for refusing to testify the first time. Trump can’t pardon him again. Bannon was already pardoned by Trump for stealing a million dollars on that “build that wall scam.”

Some of the Trump thugs coming to the insurrection volunteered for a “firing squad,” another wanted to start a white revolution and yet another asked, why don’t we just kill them…. every last democrat. the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers joined together for the insurrection.

Looking back, it is fortunate this didn’t end in a much bigger blood bath, it was a powder keg that didn’t fully explode.

One of the top republican state senators ran the investigation and investigated the allegations of dead people voting. He found two, one had the exact name as his dad who had died. The election clerk made the mistake. The other was a mail in ballot and the woman died after she mailed the ballot but died before the election. It sad that many of honest republicans will lose friends, jobs, businesses if not their lives over telling the truth and Trump who has lied his entire will be their hero.

Trump wanted to lead the insurrection on Jan 6th and when the secret service stopped him, he was angry. We can all thank the secret service for not letting Trump direct the insurrection. The insurrection would have been much worse with Trump enraging the crowd. Trump is a coward and would not have led the charge, but he would have egged the rioters on.

When this failed Trump decided to go to the Georgia state legislature to create a false set of electors who would vote for Trump even after Biden won the election. The red neck right republicans have a case in front of the supreme court now that would allow the state legislatures to decide which slate of electors would be sent to the electoral college, it would not matter how the vote went. Elections would be only ceremonial; the legislatures would decide.

Trumpists tried the false elector scheme in the swing states. Now it is time for the head of republican party in Georgia and two state senators to pay the price. It's time to see the guilty go to jail.

Flynn and company wanted Trump to declare martial law and seize the voting machines.

Crazy Sidney eventually expanded her conspiracy theory to include most of the world engaging in a conspiracy to beat Trump. At the meeting were three of Trump’s advisors and the outside nut jobs. It would have no doubt been a hell of fight, but it was adverted at the last minute. Can anyone imagine Crazy Sidney investigating anything other than the inside of a mental institution? Crazy Sidney was the one that supplied proof that Trump won the election using military intelligence officer as a source. Turns out that wasn’t the first thing he lied about, he flunked out of training in his first class. There is a term that denotes a military leader who surrounds himself with yes men but there no term for a leader who surround himself with nut jobs.

No doubt Crazy Sidney was responsible for coming up with the Italian contractor tale.

When the new Attorney general told Trump there was no evidence of substantial fraud that would change the outcome of the election. The justice Department told Trump “They could not snap their fingers and change the outcome of the election.” When the Justice refused to do Trump’s biding, he told the Justice Depart to just say the election was corrupt. “Leave the rest to me and the republican congressmen.” Trump was never concerned about the truth he was only interested in con. That statement tells you a lot about Trump and the republican congressmen.

The poll worker had to leave her home and received hundreds of threats. She was from Georgia and a woman from Chicago showed up on her mother’s doorstep who worked for Kanye West. After the woman, Trevian Kutti, was taken to the police department she told the poll worker that she was just about to be indicted by the US Attorney but if she and her daughtered “confessed” they would go free. You can tell the woman was lying if the US Attorney had wanted to talk to poll worker and her daughter, he would have called them. This was an effort to pressure the poll worker into making a false confession.

Trump said the poll worker and her daughter were handing out ballots like they were dope because they were black no doubt. In Trump conversation with Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, lawyer, Trump demand to know why the poll workers was not prosecuted? The lawyer questioned Trump about the ballots and Trump said all the ballots were for Biden. The lawyer told Trump that was not true. But Trump wasn’t greedy he only wanted 11,799 of the hundreds of thousands of votes he imagined he was cheated out of.

Since Arizona was also a swing state and I am sure Trump had a number of votes in mind that they needed to “find” in Arizona.

Trump was getting to be like Roger Dangerfield he just couldn’t get any respect not even a phone call. At least some republicans knew to keep their distance from Trump.

Like every other scam Trump tried this also failed but it is going to leave other people holding the bag, they will be the ones going to jail.

The Postmaster in Pennsylvania who was accused of back dating ballots in the election has sued his accuser and the right- wing news media outlet that pushed the story on the internet. The accuser recanted his story when questioned by Postal inspectors. But then recanted it again and said the only reason he recanted was because he felt pressured. The accuser got $196,000 on a go fund me site when he first told the story. The accuser no longer works for the post office and is said that he moved to WV. The Postmaster had a big Trump banner draped over his house, but the accuser said he was a Trump hater. The crowds forced the Postmaster from his home, there were guns drawn. This was republicans fighting republicans. I hope he gets every penny of the $196,000 the liar got. This is republicans fighting republicans.

Matthew Teague was a good book. I did not like the way the information was organized. They kept switching back and forth between story lines in different states, but it provided information that can’t be found easily elsewhere. This country owes those people a debt of gratitude, they stood up for democracy and the American way. I can’t say that I believe in their politics, but I deeply admire their character. Politicians are known to be charter members of the PLR (path of least resistance). It is always easier to go long to get along. Barry Marrow, whose wife disappeared after going for a bike ride, pled guilty of voting his wife’s ballot in 2020 in fact, she seems to have voted several times. He was charged with her murder, but charges were later dropped after discovery was found to be faulty. If she is voting she can’t be dead, or can she? When asked why he did it, he said, “I just wanted Trump to win.” He got probation.

At the retirement community in Florida several residents voted twice once in Florida and absentee from the state they were from. They got community service. One Nevada official, Kirk Hartle, said he found proof of dead people voting and became a local celebrity because he had proof of dead people voting, His dead wife had voted in the election. When they investigated, they found the culprit, Hartle, himself. Hartle had inside information he knew dead people voted because he did it. Do you think he voted for Biden? He got probation.

A member of the Kentucky state senator, Adrienne Southworth, has been touring the state telling the people how corrupt the elections are in Kentucky. This is a state where some counties voted at 90% for Trump and they still think that the elections were rigged.

It is now everyman for himself in Washington, no one wants to go to jail for Trump anymore. No one is going to fall on their sword for Trump. As more and more White House employees spill their guts more of Trump’s lies will come to light.

The threat of violence hangs over any prosecution of Trump but the attorney general, Merrick Garland, says that will absolutely not be a consideration in deciding whether to prosecute Trump. He believes that no man is above the law.

The party is going to be for moderates in both parties who don’t want to be considered racists or Neo-Nazis or Trump thugs. This has been tried and didn’t work before, but things are different this time. What is different is the “never Trumpers” who were powerful republican leaders before Trump took over the party and the internet can be used to recruit new members. The republican party has become a refuge for nut cases like Marjorie Taylor Greene, most sane people don’t want to be associated with her. Trump biggest accomplishment may be killing the republican party.

This is not the only republican that is using the Trump defense that they did not lose they were cheated. I said before no one will ever lose an election they will simply say they were cheated. It is much easier on the ego to say you did not lose you were cheated but the damage is being done to our election system. The more confidence people lose in our election system the less likely they are to vote.

Kentucky got hit hard during the recent flooding. This is right in the middle of Trump country where he won by 90%. Hazard Kentucky got 10.5 inches of rain and the river raised by 20 feet in a matter of hours. They use to say this was a 500-year flood but the problem is they keep happening more often. When you vote republican, you are voting for more global warming, more floods, more deadly forest fires and more droughts. Just as the republican party is the pro school shooting party it is on record as the anti-environmental party. They have denied that global warming was real until recently and now they say other countries are not doing anything, so we should not do anything either. Trump did everything in his power to repeal every environmental regulation he could.

The first home owned was built in 1950 it was not far from a small creek. We lived in it 18 years and then rented it. There had never been any water in that house from the time it was built. One Memorial Day in 1190 I got a call that asked if I knew my property flooded? I had no idea even though it only got about six inches of water it was a mess. Years later I sold the property to the renters who lived in it for several years. Now massive floods in that neighborhood have become common place FEMA has bought brand new houses in that neighborhood. It was unthinkable to see cars washed away by a small creek that you could walk across. Now you can expect at least two majors floods a year and you bet they were absolutely thrilled when Trump did away with air pollution regulations. Elections are about more than personality; they are about which way we want the country to go.

I had a vacation scheduled and received a subpoena for circuit court on that Monday. My wife wanted me to just ignore it. She never got over the fact that I would not ignore it and go on vacation.

The law has to apply to everybody and without subpoenas our court system would not work. People would simply ignore requests to come to court. It has to apply to all, and it must be enforced. A number of members of the Trump administration decided that they would just thumb their nose at the law. Bannon was just the first one to be prosecuted. Bannon finally relented and agreed to testify thinking that would keep from going to jail but it did not work.

The Build Back Better Bill may fail over one provision, the Carried Interest Loophole. No congressman will defend the tax loophole in public. It cuts the richest of the rich’s taxes by 50% and cost the country billions in taxes. Under the tax book these ungodly greedy need only pay 20% instead of 40% on income generated from managing investments. Hedge fund managers are compensated with a percentage of the profits made from investors investments. If a salesman was paid a commission on what he sells he would still pay the full amount of tax and carried interest is about the same, a commission paid for managing investments.

Doing away with the loophole that only a tiny fraction of Americans can use and costs the country billions in tax revenue is long over do; but one democrat Krysten Sinema is about to vote against the Build Back Better Bill in order to keep from eliminating the carried interest loophole. Mitt Romney has made millions with this loophole. This is a unique opportunity to eliminate the carried interest loophole because it can be done on a simple majority vote because it is in reconciliation bill. A separate bill would require a 2/3 majority vote. Since the congressmen are receiving huge campaign contributions to keep the carried interest loophole in place this is a one-time only chance.

Krysten Sinema will be handsomely rewarded by Wall Street for keeping the Carried Interest Loophole from being removed. Can you imagine what Sinema cut of that $1.8 billion loophole will be? She will never have to worry about her campaign coffers being low, all she will have to do when she needs a campaign contribution is call up the billionaires and say remember when I alone saved the carried interest loophole for you? It is time to pay the piper. She is the very definition of a crooked politician. The ungodly greedy already pay the smallest percentage of their income in taxes, less than the middle class, even less than the working poor when all state and local taxes are taken into account. If she was a real democrat, she would want to remedy that. She is a democrat in name only not in political philosophy.

Congressmen spend most their time raising campaign money far more time than they spend doing government work. That has to stop, this is why our overall tax system is regressive instead progressive. This is a good example of how those with the most money have the most political power. They only had to buy one senator to keep the carried interest loophole. There will be consequences in the next election, but she will be wealthy for life after all she has connections.
