Florida governor, Ron DeSantis, is obviously going to inherit Trump’s crown. He won the first CPAC straw poll by a wide margin over Trump. DeSantis is doing his level best to be a Trump mini-me. DeSantis will run for president standing on a stack of dead Americans 10 miles high. He is doing everything he can to politicize the response to the pandemic. DeSantis believes he can purchase political capital by pitting Americans against one another, he knows full well it is killing Americans but that is not important. Trump’s playbook calls for dividing people over issues because once they chose a side on an important issue many will become loyal members of the Trump brigade.

There is an interest study of how people make decisions and how they rationalize that decision. Once you made a decision you need to be consistent and you will bend over backwards rationalize that decision. Once people went with Trump on one issue, they are far more likely to follow him on other issues and rationalize them as being correct. You need only look to the Jan 6 insurrection where a majority of republicans saw nothing wrong with Trump staging a coup. Once you are in for a dime you are in for a dollar. Almost all republicans believed the election was corrupt even without one shred of evidence that it was. It was like their decision was preordained and they were.

Trump offers to return a fraction of the money as long as his victims agree not to prosecute him and that scam works every time. But as the Christian right preachers say Trump is a “vessel of god” so it does not matter how many people he has swindled. God evidently had very little to pick from.

The damage will be counted in dead Americans. After all, if you were sick would you call a Fox News host for medical advice?

You will soon run into this lie coming from your red neck right friends, they will be fully convinced that Biden caused this massive surge in the Trump virus by confusing the public. When you ask them to provide one example of how Biden’s message changed, they will not be able to find even one example but they will say I know it is true because they saw it on Fox News.

The mother comes screaming that the principal is trying to take her son’s freedom away. The principal says your son took a shortcut across the interstate highway and caused an accident. The mother says you cannot take my son’s freedom away, he is fast and it saves him blocks if he has to go around, besides I have life insurance on him.

Pillow Head’s motion to dismiss the Billion-dollar lawsuit for defamation of the voting company was overruled. Pillow Head is not the sharpest knife in the drawer he is being sued for over a billion and decided to double down on his lies. The Trump appointed judge, presiding over the defamation Pillow Head’s defamation suit, completely blew the tree musketeers’ case out of the water.

When that voting block decided they wanted to take the “freedom to choose” the republicans quickly made a deal with the devil. Before the ink was dry on the deal the republicans were suddenly against freedom. Which is it, the republicans are for freedom or against it? After all a spring cannot run both salt water and fresh water. DeSantis has simply made a political calculation and hopes to come down on the side that will give him the biggest political advantage, damn those bodies, full speed ahead.

When you know that you have done something really stupid it is best to look for a scapegoat. That lets you blame somebody else for your mistakes. It won’t make anything better but it lets you escape personal responsibility.

Stupid is as stupid does; this surge was avoidable. We lost this war when Trump made this a political problem instead of a medical problem. When America has a pandemic, we look to the doctors and medical experts to lead the country. If you were going into a battle, I experts you would not want a doctor in chare of making the battle plan. But we had politicians overruling medical experts and we still do. Trump used wedge issues to divide and conquer, that is why he got elected, and in the pandemic saw he saw a huge wedge issue and he began to drive the wedges deep. He painted the medical experts as the bad guys in tale, there to take the freedom away from hard working Americans. Fool me once and it is your fault, fool me twice an it is my fault. It didn’t work the second time, Trump did not get elected, but he did a massive amount of damage to America in the process.

The Governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noam, insisted on having the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally again this year with a projected attendance of 700,000 during the worst surge of the Pandemic. The evacuation of troops from Afghanistan was well underway during Trump’s time in office. Trump should have negotiated an orderly exit from the country but he was only concerned with being able to claim that he had negotiated a “historic peace deal.”

America valued freedom more than any country in the world until the religious decided that it was time to start eliminating freedom. They decided that their religious demanded that they take the freedom of a woman to control her ow body. It is not a big leap to telling a woman how she must dress and shooting her in the head when she does not dress how your favorite fantasy religion demands. Many religious organizations are fronts for political action committees and demand non profit status. They claim to pray for the elections. Religion in America is actively trying to take over our government, remember Afghanistan and see what happens when government and religion mix.

What we are seeing is fiction masquerading as reality. It stared with those age 20-30 gamers on the dark side of the web but as it moved from 8 channel to the other side of the more mainstream side of the web, to Reddit, it began attracting 65 and older baby boomers, who had no idea how the movement began.

August is almost over and Trump is still not back in the White House. These people who keep saying that Trump will return White House on a certain date can pick a new date for when their Messiah will return to the White House. It reminds me of the religious cults who kept predicting the end of the world. When the date of their prediction came and went and the world did not end, they would simply say that god was to0 busy that day to destroy the world and he would give them another date. One of our major religious began as an end of the world cult. After giving several dates that it didn’t happen, they put the date far into the future that way they would not continue to be embarrassed.
