I agree. This conspiracy theory stuff is merely amusing the first time you hear it...but quickly becomes aggravating when you realize that some people actually believe it.

I got online with Air America, and it came in loud and clear. Being on a dialup with only a 450 processor though, I couldn't do anything else, really, as all other activities crawled and caused disruption to the stream. But as a substitute for access to radio signals, it worked just fine.

Seems to me the far worse offense, and one far more pervasive at all levels/departments plus undefendable

Stupidity, ignorance, falsity, naivete all contribute to Incompetence.

But incompetence need not be a permanent condition. It can be rectified by the incompetent individual when s/he discovers that what s/he wanted to make happen did not happen, and endeavors to try an alternate more carefully analyzed approach to make it happen.

Then I assume your outrage extends to the Clinton administration's failure to prevent the Kobe Towers bombing, the first WTC bombing, the bombing of the USS Cole, the bombing of the Murrow Office Building...

Or is the failure to prevent terrorism only evidence of "incompetence" when a Republican is in the White House?

Scrat, that's clearly unfair, right? Rolling Eyes Clinton, after all, was handicapped by his act of perjury (i.e., illegal lying: lying before a grandjury) and his consequent impeachment. Confronting terrorists was clearly a higher priority matter forced into a lower priority beyond the control of his administration.

Poor fellow was terribly harassed by the impeachment process. Crying or Very sad

Look how he had to wait all the way 'til the last days of his 2nd term, because of his work overload, before he could pardon all those terribly deserving folks. Embarrassed

Well, I don't know yet. The probability is doubtbtless with incompetence, or the cock-up theory, but all the facts are not yet in. It was merely a suggestion anyway, a hypothesis, not a statement of any known fact. And whether incompetence was the real reason, which is easy to understand in any administration, especially one with so many departments vieing for dominance and influence, my opinion of these people is that they are playing for high stakes and they are extremely ruthless. I would not discount the possibility that they were willing for the citizenry to take a hit in order to gain a political advantage.

If you take the testimony of the lady FBI translator given in the Independent article above, they have been lying fluently about their prior knowledge of the terrorists' readiness, intentions, and mode of attack.

Truly, I don't think this is the way they work, if by 'hit' you mean murder. But I'm not sure how much more agreeable the actual situation is when they are quite willing to kill many innocents via the military, and some of those innocents are their own soldiers, particularly given how few of them saw fit to put themselves into the military.

Well, different situation isn't it, once the dogs of war are loosed.

By "hit" I mean a strike, but the scale shocked everyone. Even OBL only expected 3-4 floors of the buildings to be destroyed by the planes; he didn't expect the buildings to fall.

But I won't pursue that hypothesis for now awhile, there are many more authenticated instances to discuss.

Has anyone read that piece posted by Steve from The Independent? It's a shocker.

The piece on the translator? It's been out for a while, and airamerica just mentioned it again several minutes ago.

BillW - I guess your outrage is merely a function of your anti-Bush bias and really had nothing to do with any expectation of the government preventing terrorism, huh? Cool

What is number one in my mind about Clinton is Clinton's failure to apprehend bin Laden. What is number two in my mind about Clinton is Clinton's repeated blame of Bush for the consequences of Clinton's own incompetence in dealing with the 1998 FATWA threat of bin Laden to murder Americans and bin Laden henchmen's subsequent murders of Americans. What is number three in my mind is the fact that Clinton is the only president in the history of the US to be convicted of perjury.

As for Clinton's penis, why is it in your mind? You brought it up ... not me! Let go of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhh, so to speak. Smile

Now I am not a news hound all of the time, but I am not aware of Clinton blaming Bush for much of anything, let alone repeatedly blaming. As far as I can tell, Clinton has been pretty much silent in his low-profile posture since Bush took office. Where and when is this happening? I do not require a link, just a general idea. Is your statement, in fact, true?
