I really can't imagine anyone objecting. It's not like taking somebody's head off and sticking them on a "Howdy" body....haha!

No, the work will just be a straight "Who's Who" on A2K.

Any animated avatars will just show as a still pic. So, I hope that is okay with those that have them.

I will try to include as many as I can. I guess if I miss a few, I could always make a 2nd one, right?

Ok, I've done my errands and chores, had lunch, and going to tackle this new project now.

By the way, the criteria that I will be using for the most part (since there are 1,000's of people here), is that I will use the avatars from the most active posters first. This is a rough guide. I already know that there will be exceptions.

If anyone has any ideas, comments, or questions, just ask.

Here's that tiny painting, such as it is.

This looks very much like what I can see outside my window right now. Nothing like spring-time in the desert.

I have an architectural historian pal who lives near Lake Isabella in central California. He sends me email photos of his property once or twice a week, wonderful photos, and this is based on one of them.

it's beautiful and atmospheric. You have a lovely way with colours Osso.

How small is small?

I'm feeling happy (and very very tired) this morning as I sold 3 paintings at our show yesterday and got a commission for one (none high prices but it all helps!) one 6in square, one 18 inch square, a 12 inch square and commission for an 18inch square.

They are nice group, We meet once a month to talk about our work, sometimes have a visiting artist to talk about their work, go to exhibitions sometimes and some of us do an annual trip to the coast to paint for a few days. We exhibit several times a year together. 9 of us were showing work at a village hall. It looked really good when we'd put it up, though I say it myself!

Off again in a bit as it's a 2 day show. Fingers crossed .....could do with more sales.

6 x 8 inches, very tiny for me. Hmmm, see that white wiggly line in the upper middle of the photo? I fear it's a corgi hair in the varnish, though I looked and looked..

Neat painting Osso, I like the almost geometric
cylinders of those trees. Your painting looks like it would work very well on a larger canvas too.

Great news on the sales and commission Vivien!
Very impressive.

Maybe it's time to haul out that list that
Lightwizard gave us and hike up your prices?

Thanks, shepaints. I'd have more fun with it at 3 x 4 feet...
I figured out that that photo was one of the prevarnish photos, so, it that's a corgi hair, it's gone now. Whew!

yes it would look great large Osso - do you find it difficult to paint 'the same again' even on a different scale? I do, things always become a little different or I get bored.

coming down from cloud nine today and very very tired - and it's the day I teach morning, afternoon and evening. I'm on a2k so I don't fall asleep and forget the evening class Rolling Eyes

Yes, I always change things. In this case, I'd move the verticals so the main one isn't smack dab in the middle, and I'd give something to look at in the distance, however small, to carry one downhill through the painting...

In the May edition of American Artist is a feature on watercolor artist Sheryl Luxenburg. Her style is almost a Photoshop emulating style. (This is bloody orrible when I compare an artists work to a tricked out photo). The point is that Luxenburg uses some funky dispersants that Id like to list and see if anyones had experience with em.

Winsor Newton aquipasto--duhhh , never heard of it
W/N lifting preparation
W/N granulation medium ( Ive used fine salt to achieve some granulation effects)
W/N blending medium
Ox Gall-this Ive used to keep stuff wet for a while longer

Most of the above , Ive had little experience with. Aanybody use nos. 1,2, and 4 especially?
Her work is rather photo realist with a CG enhanced look, but its her watercolor work. Take a look, see what you think

I don't subscribe to art mags except Art News, and that only once in a while, so I haven't seen it. I wonder if you can read that on line..
