@peter jeffrey cobb,
This is an older post of yours from another thread. Are you able to print from your computer, by the way?

evrey thing I do is guided by my voices Smile hmmm lets see how to explain this. Its like being in a conferance were no one person is more important then the next. Now think of that conference being your thought process Smile Well its great you always have more than one opinion on the matter. But have you ever try to concetrate on doing something like reading this paragraph And some one starts talking to you? It is disabilitating! Well does what I say make any sense?

@peter jeffrey cobb,
OK, this is the third and - for now - final post I'm copying from yet another thread. It may help you to have everything in one place, so you don't have to skip back and forth to follow what you have written. It will also help other people trying to follow your thinking.

When is your next medical appointment? Print this out and take it with you. If you have no printer, e-mail it to someone - as I said the VA hospital has volunteers who will be happy to help you with that. Do you know how to get in touch with them? If not, post here - people will do their best to help Smile

His reply "those are the same voices that made me this mathematician, soo why shouldnt I belive them? "

@High Seas,
P.S. Everybody here understands you have a hard time to focus, so nobody wants to put pressure on you. But do, if you can, try - at your own pace! - to go over the list of symptoms the experimental drug you're on is supposed to alleviate before you say it doesn't work. Here is the list again, from page 2:
http://able2know.org/topic/166110-2#post-4465624

For example: take item B4 (catatonia) off the list - you don't have it. And go take a shower, we got soap and water enough for that Smile

1. hallucinations, NO
2. delusions, YES, esp. grandiosity
3. agitation, YES
4. disorganised thinking YES

B * Negative symptoms:
1. introversion, YES, very much
2. apathy, YES, occasionally
3. low self-esteem leading to personal neglect, YES
and more rarely
4. catatonia NO

1. poor memory, YES, very much so
2. attention deficit, YES
3. executive dysfunction YES, disorganization

D * Affective symptoms:

I think I entered your answers correctly: please double-check though, to make sure. Do you remember if any item on this list was better for you before the new experimental drug? Was anything worse? The same? Do you have pen and paper? See if you can copy the list. Take your time Smile

@High Seas,
Hey Peter - I guess you're off taking a shower, always a good thing to do once a day Smile My friend JPB may drop in to talk to you for a while. JPB is a specialist in medical testing so you're in luck! I'll look in again in a day or two, have to do some travelling in the meantime. Hope you'll feel better by then Smile

@peter jeffrey cobb,
Hi Peter. I introduced myself on your other thread. I don't know anything about mental illness, but I work in medical research and can certainly understand the lingo and the details of research studies. As I said this morning, welcome to A2K.

@peter jeffrey cobb,
Hey Peter - I'll be gone for a few weeks but JPB has promised to look into this thread and help you update the list of symptoms Lilly's new drug is supposed to alleviate. Please remember to post here on this thread any changes in any of the items on the list; even if it's only the item number followed by a plus (+) sign, for item getting better, or minus sign (-) if anything is getting worse, that helps. JPB is a medical testing expert as you know so you should be well organized for your hospital checkup on the 18th. Obviously the more feedback you can communicate to your doctors the better they can help you. The list is further up on this page, but here's an extra link for easy reference: http://able2know.org/topic/166110-3#post-4471232
Get better soon Smile

@peter jeffrey cobb,
Put me on your list. I've run a couple of serious laboratories as a tech, under university aegis and, the next, with a really smart guy, but those were quite a while ago. It is likely JPB and I will agree, from natural agreement. She is way more up to date on what is going on. I'll defer. But I'm still interested, and I will watch your threads, Peter.

Good morning, Pete. I thought I'd bring your symptoms list up to the top of this thread so that it's handy for you for tomorrow's appointment. Are you also planning on bringing your VA letter with you to show the study doctors? I think that may be a good idea. Maybe the folks at the research center can help you wade through the bureaucracy at the VA.
