Angel Jibreel the same as angel Gabriel?

2. Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would conceive in her womb and give birth to a son and would call Him Jesus (Luke 1:31). Because of her unbelief, the angel told her that her old and barren cousin Elisabeth was six months pregnant (Luke 1:36). To prove that what the angel said was true, she hurriedly went to the hill country of Hebron in Judah or Judea, a three-day walk away from Nazareth, to see her cousin.

True enough, Elisabeth was six months pregnant. Not satisfied still, she stayed at her place until she gave birth, to see if she would really give birth to a son and a human being. Elisabeth gave birth to a son and a human being. On the eighth day, the child was circumcised (Luke 1:59) and was named John. Only then did Zechariah regain his speech. (Please read Luke 1 for the whole story.) And Mary returned to Nazareth soon after the circumcision of John because winter was coming and would be rainy.

You realize that in ancient Judea they spoke Aramaic and that 500 or 600 years later in Arabia they spoke Arabic and were familiar with both Hebrew Scripture and the fledgling New Testament... you also must realize that these "Angels" are mythical beings without any real existence outside of the stories told about them.
Those desert tribesmen were surrounded for many centuries by powerful empires, each with it's own widespread religion, (not to mention their own religion) and each in turn dominating them in one way or another. Egypt, Persia, Greece, Rome, Assyria, Judea, Babylon. Sorry they're not in order and I think I missed a few.

OF COURSE Jibreel is Gabriel, who else could he be?

That time and place and situation was just RIPE for a revelation. Muhammed got one and really ran with it.

The Muslims say that angel Jibreel is one and the same as angel Gabriel. Jibreel is the Arabic equivalent of Gabriel. Are they really one and the same person? Why, in Allah's 23 years of revealing the Qur'an to Mohammad, did he not show himself to Mohammad? According to the Muslims, Allah showed himself to Adam, Noah, Moses, but for 23 long years of presenting an important manuscript, he did not show himself Mohammad? Why?

Not a clue. Perhaps Muhammed's particular type of mental illness would not allow it. You doubt that the Arab's Jibreel is the same as the Hebrew's Gabriel. Why? What do you suppose? That there is some deception here? Allah didn't show himself to Muhammed and Jibreel is an imposter. I guess it's Satan behind these deceptions. Is that where you're going with this?

If were to be believe in a god, we have to be sure that He is the true God.

So we have to be alert, watchful. Not everything that is beautiful to our ears, we accept. Be scrutinizing. Remember what the spirit of Ama said that we have to beware of false prophets who will give us "borrowed faith". That is faith that did not come from within us but commanded to us, or told to, or directed, imposed, dictated or compelled upon us by our fellowmen. We will not be saved this way. We must focus our faith in God, the only true God, who gave us our life, not through faith in Him as commanded by our fellowmen but believe and have faith in Him in our heart because of His being God and we are His creation.

According to the spirit of Ama, "There is no right religion. Do you know, children, which is right? Recognize Jesus Christ as true God and true man ...

You will be saved by any religion because you will pick up what is right and discard what is evil. What will save you will be your own work and faith in the true God."
