@JTT,
Why do you even bother to post on the politics site. Anything that dosent state that the U.S. is the great saten just goes over your head. I said once before that I will no longer post to you on this subject and I state so again. You have a blind spot on this subject that is the same as a serious mental problem!

@RABEL222,
I just address lies and hypocrisy wherever they occur, Rabel. Did you not notice RJB's hypocrisy/lies?

And don't tell me that you haven't noticed that when a passel of yanks get together there is all manner of back patting, bragging, lies and hypocrisy. It's as natural as breathing.

How come you've never commented on all the "rah rah, democracy is coming to those very countries that we've held under brutal dictators since forever" hypocrisy?

It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This
The 26th District in NY lies between Buffalo and Rochester. There will be a special election 5/24 to replace U.S. Congressman Cliff Lee (R). Lee abruptly resigned his seat a couple of months ago after an internet photo (sex?) scandal.
There was a debate scheduled this morning attended by Jane Corwin (R), Kathy Hochol (D) and Jack Davis (I). Davis describes himself as a tea party supporter but some "leaders" of the movement disown him. There is a 15-second video out by the Repubs showing a smiling Davis and an aide alledgedly assaulting a Repub volunteer who kept asking Davis why he had decided to skip the debate.
The debate itself followed the script: Medicare, spending cuts and all of the usual other stuff.
Then, out of the blue, came the question from an audience member: "How many cars do you and your family own?"
Corwin (R): Chevy Equinox, Cadillac Escalade, Range Rover & a Mercedes.
Hochol (D): Dodge Durango, Cadillac EST, Ford pickup and a car for the kids.
Corwin sneared: "What about the Lexus?"
Hochel responded: "We don't own a Lexus."
Corwin shot back: "I am pretty sure I saw your husband in one."

Watching politicians doesn't get much better than that.
For the record, polling shows Corwin (R) at 36%, Hochol (D) at 31% and Davis (I) at 26%.

Newt is a total sleazeball and nut. Of course, that qualifies him to win the GOP nomination and, probably, the presidency.

Did I forget to mention hypocrite.

@RABEL222,
Use "ignore." It's easy and so satisfying.

@Advocate,
He is a sleaze ball, a brilliant sleaze ball, but a sleaze ball nevertheless. The difference between him and liberal sleaze balls (like John Edwards) is that the mainstream media set off on a crusade to destroy his public image while they left the muck raking on Edwards to the National Enquirer.

@Finn dAbuzz,
You just can't ignore me, can you, Finn? I still so have your number. That's why you retreated to the shelter of 'ignore'.

I watched Romney's attempts to explain his position on health care yesterday. My take was that it will help him with moderates/indies if he survives the primaries but that it will likely kill him there.

I see that Huckabee is planning on announcing his intentions tomorrow night.
Quote:
“Governor Huckabee will announce tomorrow night on his program whether or not he intends to explore a presidential bid. He has not told anyone at FOX News Channel his decision.” More

And, Ron Paul is officially in. He supposedly has a lot of appeal with younger voters. I like his libertarian position on many issues but he's a social conservative, which would lose me at the ballot box.

Why so specific about Fox? Was this to prevent them from making up news?

@JTT,
He's employed there. His contract will be canceled if/once he announces his candidacy.

From the link above wrote:
Huckabee's flurry of appearances comes amid reports Fox News executives were rushing the former governor to announce his intentions for the 2012 campaign. Running for president most likely means Huckabee would have to relinquish his FOX News show and his radio show. Since former speaker of the House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum declared they are running for president, the network suspended their contracts.

@JPB,
New York Times is saying they think Huckabee will announce he's not running.

@JPB,
Re Ron Paul, I find some of his economic arguments interesting to discuss but totally impossible to implement (abolish the IRS, go back to the gold standard.)
Ron Paul will be 77 by election day, 2012. Only perennial candidate Harold Stassen (one time Repub gov on Minn) and Mike Gravel (Dem Senator of Alaska) were older among major candidates.
Ronald Reagan was about to turn 70 when his 1st term began and 73 at the start of his 2nd term.
His entry into the race as a Republican will make for somewhat more interesting debates.
I saw the headline on the Times' website about Huckabee. But I have used up my free views for May.

@realjohnboy,
I saw that Herb Kohl, the Democratic Senator from Wisconsin has announced he won't be running again. Isn't he the 5th or 6th to retire? I thought you'd started a thread, but maybe I'm thinking of our old one from 2010.
