How do you define "public decency?" That's too broad a term to have any meaning that's universally acceptable.

@cicerone imposter,
It will be up to the USSC to decide such matters once Christian morality is set aside as you seek to do. It's your job to offer suggestions.

@spendius,
Christian morality doesn't belong in government laws; common law has enough problems.

@cicerone imposter,
Our laws derive from Christian morality. And some Pagan ones. The Capitol is a Magian building. The Senate is a Roman institution.

The interesting thing is where the law doesn't cover some aspects of Christian morality. Those are what you need to replace or let them vanish.

Don't act stupid with A2K.

@spendius,
You have myopia; how do you think non-christian countries established laws for their citizens?

Even the bible authorized slavery.

@fbaezer,
I hate to even suggest it, but Sarah Palin doesn't look all that bad from the mix of characters running for the GOP. She has more charisma than the four top runners combined.

@cicerone imposter,
Which companies still sponsor Limbaugh? I want a current list, because I'm not going to buy their products if they're still sponsoring this right-wing, garbage-brained, radio host.

@cicerone imposter,
If Limbaugh had a shop and the last loaf in the state you would pay him treble for it. It isn't as if he is employing cheap labour in a sweatshop in India or China.

Fox News returned to Ms Fluke last night. First item on The Factor. They seemed to think she's a White House stooge being managed by somebody called Dunn, I think.

Although Herman Cain is no longer promoting himself as a candidate (many feel he never was a candidate, just a promoter of self), he apparently is still promoting himself. This is hysterical. The Colbert Nation team is at its best here:

@farmerman,
What's your objection to gold, porn and penis extenders? As an amoral evolutionist.

@plainoldme,
I miss Colbert, they stopped showing him over here about five years ago. They still keep rerunning Friends though.

@djjd62,
I can't watch more than a minute of Friends. I really hate it when it overruns, and I want to see what's on after. I know lots, and I mean lots, of people over here who love it. I can't for the life of me see why.

From the NYT.

Quote:
Centrist Women Tell of Disenchantment With G.O.P.

Some moderate Republican and independent women — a crucial swing group — have felt alienated by the focus on contraception and abortion during the campaign.

The republicans don't care about women's rights or equality to win elections, but somebody needs to tell them Americans are more interested in the economy than women's sex organs, and how to control it.
