Or considering the DSK case and what jumped out from under the stone when it was lifted.

Exactly!!! We need to kick that off again. We lost all of our steam after the elections in 2008 but it seems like it is back now.

I cant help but wonder why Obama is running campaign ads against Sarah Palin.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2012/03/obama-team-raises-money-with-palin-ad/1

I dont remember her being on a ballot anywhere.
It seems to me to be a waste of money to run an ad against someone that isnt running for anything.

@mysteryman,
If it makes money for the campaign, it's not a waste of money.

Ms. Palin gets attention - positive and negative. It's a savvy fund-raising team that recognizes that "chip in $20 or more now to show that each time someone like Sarah Palin launches an attack, it only makes us stronger." is going to be a money-maker.

@mysteryman,
to be against Sarah Palin is to fight against everything that is wrong with America.

she's the total package...

@Rockhead,
But she isnt running for anything, so what you are saying is that its ok for the Obama admin to attack a private citizen, for political purposes.

@mysteryman,
"Private citizen"???

You are kidding aren't you?

She is anything but a private citizen. Simply is not an office holder. (Which makes lots of sense!)

@Rockhead,
She is a private citizen because she is not running for any office, is not on any ballot anywhere.

Private citizen my ass. Caribou Barbie is not only a foul-spirited politician - she was last cycle's VP candidate for your side, for chrissake - she injects herself into the political discussion constantly, by appearing on TV as a pundit. She's a paid pundit of Fox News.

@Frank Apisa,
I am not an office holder, and I assume you arent either.

Would you be ok with an admin attacking you to score political points.

While I understand your point, I just think that someone not running for office should ever be attacked by a political campaign.

She is not running for office; she does not hold any public office.

She is a far cry from being a private citizen.

So, you were against all the campaign commercials attacking Obama's associates from 2008? It's wrong for people to bring up the people he associated with in his past? After all, they aren't part of a political campaign.

@mysteryman,
do you have a PAC???

She accepts exorbitant sums to appear publicly and make speeches against Obama.

he should not be allowed to strike back?

@mysteryman,
Actually...on a local, municipal level, I had it happen.

I laughed at it...and considered it a compliment.

I am sure Sarah Palin considers it a compliment also. My guess is she is eating it up.

If the president of the United States were to attack you...wouldn't you?

@Cycloptichorn,
Yes, I was against them, and I am on record as saying so.

If someone wants to run for office, then they open themselves up to that anal exam from the media.
However, the families, the friends, the nonpolitical associates (the associates that are not themselves politicians) should all be off limits.

@mysteryman,
If she's so private, she might consider having "former governor", "former candidate for vice president" etc dropped when people introduce her when she's out on her speech trail.
