@Finn dAbuzz,
I agree with you, RJB has a knack for politics and calming the waters with fact. I, for one would love to keep this going as a rel discussion It had been nice to actually discuss the GOP canidates and their stands (Because , as a progressive (socially) and a conservative fiscally, Im not keen on returning Obama as a "reward" to a job well done) However, the candidates on the GOP side have been ,to my eyes, spending their entire time shooting their collective foots.
As far as this thread, the waterboy had entered the fray with a silly childish patois that has evoked similar silly return fire (I admmit some culpability in this ,but he really doesnt help anything by his fourth grade intellect). If he could be invited to just back off the somplete childishness and actually discuss things, naybe the thread could be turned from a mutual neener neener fest to actual discussion again..
However, having said that, Im not keen to just let the boy go off unchallenged especially when he only posts screed that comes from predigested sources.
Just my views.
BACK TO THE TOPIC------------------------------------------------------------------
Ill bet now ,on reflection, (and this goes for me), had Christie decided to jump in , wed see a clamor pf Dems looking to possibly throw their support to him.
as it stands, Romney is just another Obama, only more from the right field. Hes an unknown and is way too arbitrary and too flexible with his "deeply held convictions" . I dont like a real malleable president because the major executive weapon that the president flexes internally is INFLUENCE. I dont think Romney has shown that hes even got the ability to influence a majority of his own party.
Newt , cmon, nuff said
Santorum has been a sad case here in Pa. His career in politics had peaked ten years ago and hes been mostly repeating the "true conservative mantra" (However, Im not sure what that is all about ). Here in Pa, hes been stumping for the "401K" type Social Security and teaching Bible science in public school biology. (Things that make me gag)
Paul periodically leaves the entire solar system and visits his Mother SHip. He is marching to some drummer that is more like a Lyndon Larouche "light"
I dont like the idea that Obama immediately went to his health plan before he tried fixing the economy in a serious fashion. However, now that the economy seems to be setting a course and may come back in two years, I think that GOP should be supporting newer ideas how to cut that time down and focus on a rapid recovery strategy for the year 2113. (They still dont get it).The GOP, by saying. "OK we see that the economy is showing signs of life heres how WE can make it get off life support in 1 year after we take office".They havent done that and are still focusing on how dead the economy is. This is just like Bush insisting that the economy "Fundamentals were all healthy" and then handing that mantra off to McCain.
Ive just given you a strategy that should be picked up by GOP in order to win, becauise their present tack will only return Obama to office and I know that most thinking Dems dont want that as an auto- given . IN other words, the GOP has gotta EARN my vote and theyre not doing anything to do that yet.
If Spurt answers Ill just ignore him. If you or Rog, or Georgeob or Tico chime in as honorble conservatives then Id listen.
