@Cycloptichorn,
It's just too funny! They have a tendency to jump into any topic they think will help their cause, but it backfires on them so frequently it boggles the mind. Their meme to make Obama a one term president only ensures his reelection. It's that funny!

I watched Romney's speech to CPAC in which he described himself as "severely conservative." I would be interested to hear from Repubs regarding his speech.

If he hadn't told CPAC that he was "severely conservative" I would be "severely surprised".

@rosborne979,
It's interesting that he has to announce his "conservatism." All his challengers say different.

Obama's 'chances of re-election' on Intrade have jumped strongly in the last two weeks, and are up quite a bit over the last month.

@Cycloptichorn,
I hope with all my heart those estimates are correct. I think it is essential to keep the Republican Party out of the Oval Office...and if for that reason only, it is essential that Obama win re-election.

Don't get me wrong...I will vote for Obama happily...and with my head held high. He has, in my opinion, done as good a job as could be done in this disgustingly toxic political climate in which we are living.

@Frank Apisa,
I believe that the conservatives are having problems, and Obama's ratings continues to increase is simply based on the conservative's overwhelming message about "contraceptives, gay marriage, and Obama bashing."

People are beginning to see that conservatives are not trustworthy when they tell lies, and not deal with today's biggest problems for our country.

Obama's chances of being elected to a second term continues to
dwindle, but nobody is telling his most rabid fan base about it.

@H2O MAN,
What did you make, H2O, of the CPAC speeches today? Did you listen to/watch them?

Yes, I did. I am semi-retired, meaning I get to choose which 8 hours I work each day.

H2O:
Romney tried to become the conservative he isn't. He got a cordial response from the audience. He spent a lot of time going over his biography but advanced no new ideas. He needs to do that.
Gingrich railed against Washington and Wall Street conspiring against him. It was his basic stump speech, advocating eliminating the Energy Department and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Santorum attacked Romney on healthcare and attacked the concept of climate change.
The contraception debate also came up, of course, but that will likely be an issue tomorrow as Obama shifted his position today.

Does "dwindle" now mean "become even more likely"?

I guess maybe we should tell the Oxford English Dictionary that they're going to have to rewrite their definition.

Obama's approval numbers have been steadily improving. In the Gallup daily tracking poll today his approval rating is 48% pro, 46%no.

And the Fox trial matchups, as of yesterday, show Obama 47% versus Romney 42%. A month ago it was 46%-45%.

And of course an Obama-Gingrich matchup foretells a blowout of proportions not seen since Johnson-Goldwater.

Sure looks like the "dwindling" in the sense everybody but H2O uses the word, is all on the Republican side.

@MontereyJack,
watersquirt never knows what he's talking about; his meme is always negative against Obama and democrats. He's blinded by his bigotry and bias. Has he ever provided one intelligent post on a2k? Just wondering if somebody can provide one of watersquirt's relevant, meaningful, post?

Only ones I can think of had to do with water treatment systems. And since I've never had any need to find out anything about those, he may be completely full of sewage there too.

Despite your dogged efforts, this thread has diverged quite drastically from its original intent.

Too bad, but it no longer interests me.

The rest of us have tried. Your continued incivility exceeds my tolerance level. If you stop the "dumbasses" and the racist cartoons and such, I'll agree to a truce. Otherwise, no.
