I'm not sure if anyone has made this suggestion, but it seems to me that the 99%ers are the young crowd that voted Obama into the white house.

69,456,897 people voted for Mr Obama. From what I have seen on US news broadcasts not 1% of that number has been involved in these protests. Nowhere near.

What is shown on TV screens bears little resemblance to real life.

@spendius,
spendi, As usual, you missed the point entirely.

From ABC News:
Quote:
Messina, flanked by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and Obama policy adviser Melody Barnes, laid bare what the campaign has been calculating behind the scenes – that younger voters, particularly first-timers, will be essential to Obama winning in 2012.
“What people don’t focus on is there’s 8 million voters who are 18 to 21 who weren’t old enough to vote last time and who are going to cast their first vote for Barack Obama,” Messina said, making the case for what he said would be a “historic” grassroots push for the president.

Your understanding of "real life" doesn't exist. Your 99% pub life is not real living.

@georgeob1,
The police may be kicking them out of some areas, but it is hardly fading.

Come Spring and the political season, you will see it ramp up.

Well, if past results are any indication, about five million of those 18-21 year olds are going to cast their first votes for someone running in 2020 or 2024.

I was going to invite you all over to my house to watch the next Republican candidates' event (Sat, Dec 3rd, Fox, 8-9:30 pm ET).
The typical debate that we have seen so far will not be being the used here, meaning that the candidates can not readily draw their swords on each other. That would have fun to witness.
Instead, host Mike Huckabee and 3 guests* will do an 8-10 minute Q&A with each participant on stage (with no studio audience) while the other folks cool their heels in the green room. It will likely end up with the candidates falling back on their set speeches. (On NPR this morning, an Obama official was interviewed about extending the employee WH tax reduction. A very exasperated NPR person tried to ask some specific questions, but the official rambled on and on, effectively running out the clock.)
*As an aside, one of the guests will be VA AG Ken Cuccinelli, a tea party movement favorite. He is a bit a laughing stock here among some. He also made the late night comedy scripts after he demanded that images of Miss Liberty get a pastie over an exposed breast.
Ken announced today that he will run for Repub nomination for Gov, to be voted on in 2013. Va Govs serve 1 four-year term. The Lt Gov is the next in line (both parties typically use the same system for succession to an office that is largely ceremonial).

A guy who never misses an opportunity to self destruct, a work ethic so bad almost his entire team quit a few months back, and an all around Ass Hole is the GOP alternative to the no-go Romney?

Well, It will not be Romney, so Newt it is. God help us.

Wait for the warmer weather eh? That's not much of a sacrifice to those who have read about Christian martyrs.

Did you see the piece about how Fox viewers actually know less than people who watch no news at all?

The latest Newt story to circulate is actually several years old and deals with Newt orally servicing a neighbor's wife in the front seat of a car. I guess if he weren't overly moderate, they would have gone all the way.

@spendius,
You are confusing martyrs with movements spendius.

While martyrs can lead movements, often the movement doesn't occur until after someone becomes a martyr.

@parados,
Perhaps you would consider becoming a martyr for the movement.
