Bachmann: I Would Close Our (Non-Existent) Embassy In Iran
‎2012.talkingpointsmemo.com
Michele Bachmann responded to the recent raiding of the British embassy in Iran by saying that if she were President, she would close down the U.S. embassy there. Just one problem: there is no U.S. embassy in Iran...

@edgarblythe,
Bachman shoots off at the mouth just to show how ignorant she really is. She still doesn't realize she's been out of the race for many months.

I don't understand why John Huntsman doesn't receive more media attention. He has a lot more going for him than most of the others in this Republican pack.

Me either. Maybe it was a conspiracy by the "Liberal Media" to keep their only viable challenger out of the race. Wink

@rosborne979,
But there is a US Embassy in Iran. It's a back office in the British Embassy. Down the corridor, turn right and it's the third room on the left. If the Iranians got wind of it due to carelessness it would explain the recent jamboree at the gates.

An embassy is not a large building with flags waving and reception masts on the roof. Or somewhere to stick a large donor to campaign funds where he's out of the way. It's an old French custom although I don't think they have a monopoly on it. The Romans were too crude with it.

An embassy is such as is sallied forth when a determination to win the hand of the Duke's eldest daughter gets underway. The possibilities ranging far and wide. There's no chance of the US having no embassy to Iran.

Isn't ros cynical? It's shameful really. Imputing motives of such a self-serving nature to "Liberal Media" is a disgrace when the obvious reason why John Huntsman doesn't receive more media attention is that he's not considered useful in getting eyeballs goggling. What Mr Huntsman should do is be "sexy" using that word in the sense that it attracts eyeballs. "Liberal Media", which is all of Media as far as I can see, will be happy to jump all over him if he does something which gets eyeballs goggling at almost technically perfect cathode ray tubes or some shrunk-down version of them.

Look when Mr Perry acted having forgotten the third great institution he intends closing down. That was "sexy". It got a lot more eyeballs popping than if he had just rhymed the three off. Which I feel sure he could have done if closing them down was anywhere near the top of his list of priorities.

I don't think I've ever seen a candidate with a bigger ego than Newt.

Sure, but everyone knows that he's not going to win the nomination, because he's not willing to tell the mouth-breathers what they want to hear; and the GOP base has become increasingly radicalized over the last several years.

I am loving the fact that Newt is doing so well, you couldn't pick a worse candidate to go against Obama...

@reasoning logic,
I didn't know you are a conservative rl. Your attraction to archaic traits is always going to be at odds with up-to-date radical happenings and you use the word "sick" to stand in for a more detailed critique.

I'm not sure if anyone has made this suggestion, but it seems to me that the 99%ers are the young crowd that voted Obama into the white house. With the GOP's message of gridlock and no tax cuts for the middle class unless the tax cuts applies to the rich seems like they're playing with fire against the 99%ers.

What do you think?

@cicerone imposter,
GOP strategy is to marginalize the protesters, hope as many as possible get arrested the day before the election and denied voting.

There are plenty of people out there that believe what Fox News tells them. It will all come down to the middle and who they believe come Nov next year.

@Cycloptichorn,
Wrong.

Polls show that ANY of the current crop of republicans could defeat Obama.
Americans are fed-up with Obama, his administration and their total mismanagement of this country.

@parados,
That's where it shows many Americans are ignorant about our Constitution; and they're the ones who will be voting not knowing what this country is all about.

Do you believe the "occupy protesters" will still be at it until then? I don't. The whole thing is fading rather fast.

I am not sure myself but I have not seen any true signs of this coming to an end soon. This seems to be a global problem from my observation and I have been hearing talks about a revolution in the USA in 2012. I hope that people will be able to work this all out peacefully but peaceful revolution does not seem to be one of the trends of history.
