Ex-students say Trump University was money-sucking scam run by ‘frauds’

Former students of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s Trump University say that the millionaire real estate mogul’s college program was a money-sucking scam run by “a bunch of frauds.”

According to the New York Daily News, ex-student Robert Guillo, 75, said that every workshop and class he attended charged a fee and that the nature of the business became clear to him very quickly.

“As soon as I attended the first workshop, I knew I had been scammed,” Guillo said to the NYDN. “Every single workshop, they charged you another amount. Everything was to get you to spend more and more and more.”

The office of New York’s attorney general said that former students in New York and California have filed suit against the now-defunct institution, claiming that instructors urged them to run up massive amounts of credit card debt to complete the training program.

@bobsal u1553115,
Wait a minute Bob, this was one of the Bush Chaney initiatives to privatize education to make it better (read better as ways to steal money from) students.
right?

@RABEL222,
A truly wonderful concept: hook a student with a mortgage and no house!

Donald Trump Likens His Schooling to Military Service in Book

Source: New York Times

Donald J. Trump, who received draft deferments through much of the Vietnam War, told the author of a forthcoming biography that he nevertheless “always felt that I was in the military” because of his education at a military-themed boarding school.

Mr. Trump said that his experience at the New York Military Academy, an expensive prep school where his parents had sent him to correct poor behavior, gave him “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.

That claim may raise eyebrows given that Mr. Trump, now a Republican presidential candidate, never served in the military and mocked Senator John McCain, a decorated naval aviator, for his yearslong captivity during the Vietnam War.

Quote:
In another case of dissatisfaction with the Trump promise, a designer filed a class-action lawsuit against Trump, this time for his “Trump University.” The non-accredited, for-profit school advertises high-level courses in real estate, and charges up to $35,000. The lawsuit alleges the content presented at the “university” seminars is more like an infomercial and generally worthless. The name Trump is used to lure students, the suit alleges.

the faux Trump university scam was in the news in Toronto going back a few years

an Emperor's new clothing kind of situation

@McGentrix,
I've been mulling over who he'd have in his cabinet if he was elected. It's a bit mind-boggling to consider.

For profit seminars are all over the place, as are get quick schemes. So long as there was no false advertising and no student loans were taken this goes under "buyer be ware". I would be shocked if Trump either settles or loses. I also think that this will not matter to people who like Trump, we like the Hustle. And there is the good point that stupid people should be separated from their money, that this is justice. If you want success in life then dont be stupid.

It would be the most ideologically and racially diverse cabinet ever.

I hope to hell that the elite FINALLY figure out now as they consider the question how badly they are going to get fucked if they dont start doing their jobs and stop micromanaging and lying to the little people. These assholes never accounted for the fact that people dont stay stupid forever and have their votes for sale forever....and that DAMN Constitution!
