You don't know Trump's thoughts and motives (or those of anyone else) no matter what you watch on TV.

We can read body language at least as well as he does. And most of us were good students at great schools - with MUCH MUCH better grades.

Trump is the guy who used other people's donation as his own. This guy is beyond corrupt.

At any rate, he's pocketed funds raised for veterans and gypped a bunch of little girls.

@bobsal u1553115,
Actually, we do know Trump's motives. Just look at Trump U., his bankruptcies that left others broke while Trump walked away with money, his lies about his tax returns, and his racial bigotry. He lied so often, anyone can do a search on the net and find countless numbers.

Why exactly does Trump want to keep illegal Mexicans out, are they draining the US economy or what?
If they are, surely every American should want to keep them out too?

@High Strangeness,
Boy, you are ignorant. Why doesn't Trump want a wall on the border of Canada?
Trump called Mexicans "criminals and rapists." Trump is a textbook racist.

@High Strangeness,
Mexicans and others from the south come to the US to work, mostly. A very few come here as criminals. The ones that come to work find plenty of it, all untaxed. It's the employers that benefit from this arrangement. Contractors, farmers, homeowners in need of landscaping or housecleaning can hire them for a pittance and not have to worry about taxes, unemployment, disability etc. They also don't have to worry about providing safe work environments or fairness at all. Laws already exist to punish employers but they are rarely enforced.

@TomTomBinks,
Thanks, are you saying mexicans hurt the US economy because they do untaxed work, or are they harming the US in other ways too?
If they are, then Trump's right to want to keep them out isn't he, I see nothing "racist" about it..Smile

@High Strangeness,
Since Mexico has a border with the US, a great many Mexicans have come through illegally, worked illegally for awhile, then legitimized themselves either through previous amnesties or marriage to American citizens. As a result, many Hispanics view Trump's views as targeting Hispanics, most of whom either know somebody who came over illegally or might even have come over illegally themselves before becoming legitimized.

That, plus the fact that usually when a candidate targets one nonwhite group, the other nonwhite groups get the message that they are next.

@TomTomBinks,
If I were a Mexican national, and there were no jobs to be had in Mexico, I'd probably do the same thing they are doing. As a matter of fact, I think this kind of migration happens in many countries, and is pretty common throughout the world.

@High Strangeness,
Trump has shown he is a racist by a variety of comments. Concerning Mexicans, he has said immigrants bring crime when numbers show that crime among the immigrant community is about half of what it is for native born citizens. He has said a judge is unfit for his job because he is of Mexican descent (even though he was US born and a citizen). Concerning African Americans, he has said they are lazy due to genetics and that they are responsible for 82% of white murders (taken from a white supremacist posting). He has been sued by the Justice Department for illegally refusing housing to minorities and was very outspoken in railroading the Central Park Five. He has repeatedly called a sitting US senator by a Native American slur, most recently today. He's posted another tweet with anti-Jewish overtones.

Trump has only been consistent on one topic over the last thirty years or so. He was for the Iraq War, now he is against it. He was pro-Choice, now anti-abortion. He called for more taxes on the rich but now wants to give them a huge tax cut. But on racism, he has been remarkably constant. It is truly his one defining feature.

Trump had a mix of races and creeds as contestants on his 'Apprentice' show and even made black Arsenio Hall the winner of one series, I didn't see any racism there..Wink
My reading of Trump is that he's not against immigration in reasonable controlled numbers, but like all sane Americans he objects to uncontrolled mass immigration, that's why he's such a popular contender for the Presidency..Smile

What Trump had on tv shows is not his politics. It's ENTERTAINMENT.

But it's deplorable entertainment. Come to think of it, a lot like his views. I almost forgot, like his white supremacist voting wing.

@High Strangeness,
He had a variety of diverse people on his TV show, big deal. If had kept it all white, right in front of everybody in TV Land, there would have been problems with the network. But when Trump ran apartments, he excluded blacks, because he figured he could hide it. That's a lot more indicative of how he really acts than making sure his TV apprentices are diverse.

@Blickers,
He tried his best to hide his bigotry while earning big bucks. He couldn't hide his bigotry forever. The fact that he spent money to have five blacks executed for a crime they didn't commit proves his bigotry is not new.
