Former students claim presidential candidate defrauded them
Real-estate seminars and instructors were sub-par, they argue

Donald J. Trump and his now-defunct real-estate university lost another legal attempt to block former students from suing as a group in a California case accusing the Republican presidential candidate of fraud.

Trump University is accused of cheating students by persuading them to pay tens of thousands of dollars for real-estate seminars that turned out to be "infomercials" for buying more classes. The former students also claim workshops were led by instructors who hadn’t been "hand-picked" by Trump as promised.

U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel in San Diego on Monday rejected Trump’s argument that one of the lead plaintiffs in the case, Sonny Low, wasn’t actually concerned with whether Trump University was an accredited institution. One of the key claims in the class-action suit is that the students had relied on their belief that the school was accredited when they paid to attend.

...................................... Curiel has scheduled a trial in the case for Nov. 28.

Curiel said the billionaire’s lawyers were relying on a “selective interpretation” of Low’s deposition, in which the former student said that accreditation “was not even a consideration for me," according to the ruling. “I went there because it was Trump University, that he created."............................

@bobsal u1553115,
I don't think it's 0 (zero), because there was a black guy on tv in support of Trump. I think he was a minister. Maybe, he turned his face so Trump could slap him twice - to knock some sense into him.

@bobsal u1553115,
Trump has spent his whole life not paying the contractors who build his buildings and setting up a scam college called Trump University where people trying to learn how to better themselves got taken to the cleaners. He comes from a background of "If I can cheat you I will". And you're going to put this guy in charge of Social Security and Medicare?

@roger,
LOL, that's true. One thing we won't have to worry about if Trump gets in is a war with Russia. Putin gets everything he wants from Trump. Look for a Trump Tower in Moscow, St. Petersburg and all the European capital cities that NATO won't be around to stop Russia from taking over.

@Blickers,
The real issue is China, lots of sabre rattling in the South China Seas right now. It could easily escalate under a Trump presidency.

Which means all of the BRICS nations.

The days of the global ponzi scheme are coming to an end.

No it Doesn't. China and Indonesia aren't exactly good buddies, and I doubt Brazil gives a monkeys.

Instead of trying to shock with sensationalist posts try to look at what is actually being discussed.

The Weimar Republic had lots of checks and balances as well.

@izzythepush,
this is 2016 not 1933... And again you have apparently no concept of how a siop procedure works as it applies to a nuclear launch

@giujohn,
Back in 1933 they didn't have nukes. If your campaign message is that Trump's recklessness will be mitigated by level headed people around him that's tantamount to admitting he's unfit for office.

There's ways around everything, in Dead Zone the president threatens to cut off his chief of staff's hand to launch the nuclear strike.

It's best not to take the risk by making sure a thin skinned narcissist isn't put in office in the first place.

Please familiarize yourself with the siop procedure for nuclear launch not some work of fiction and then maybe we can have a discussion.

@giujohn,
You want to conduct a conversation within your own narrow boundaries so you can ignore the more extreme consequences of a Trump presidency. Your assurances mean nothing, especially as you seem to be tacitly admitting that Trump is a loose cannon.

Let's say you are right. Dubya didn't launch any nukes but he did start an illegal war, butcher thousands of civilians, turn Iraq into a Jihadist's playground, illegally detain and torture people without trial and legitimise IS. We didn't even have IS before Dubya came along, or Islamist terrorism offences in Europe for that matter.

It will take at least a generation if not longer for the World to recover from Dubya's disastrous term in office. Dubya was just ignorant and desperate to prove himself to his daddy. Trump is as ignorant but he's also intensely arrogant and quick to take offence. He wants to alienate all Muslims, not just the less than 0.01% actually involved in Jihadism, and if that's not enough he wants to piss off all the Hispanics.

A Trump presidency would be a disaster, one that we might never recover from.

@izzythepush,
and you're tacitly admitting that the worry about Trump pushing the nuclear button because he's some type of mad man is nothing more than the left-wing media pandering to the low-information voter.

@giujohn,
No it's not, it's based on his inflammatory rhetoric, his narcissism, his quick temper and his profound ignorance. Only far right extremists Russians and terrorists support Trump.

Throughout Europe politicians across the political divide oppose a Trump presidency. It's not a left right split it's a sane insane split.

@izzythepush,
Who cares about Europe izzy this is an American election. and if you knew anything about the siop procedures for nuclear launch you would realize that the checks and balances that are in place are not something that can be negated by chopping somebody's hand off or any other type of fictional account seen in a movie.

NowI'm going to assume for the sake of argument that the leftist news media knows this but still tries to inflame the public with the fear mongering statement that is being proffered by the Clinton campaign that Trump shouldn't have his hand on the nuclear button.

So the only conclusion is they're purposely doing it to sway the results of the election. the same reason that they have not pressured Hillary into giving a news conference in more than 9 months... Because they know if they do her negative numbers will plummet and they're not really in the business of reporting news fairly they want to be in the business of being a kingmaker to install somebody who will serve their leftist leaning Progressive agenda... And if they don't lean far enough to the left they want someone like Hillary who they know they can pressure by asking the right questions. anyone who does not see how transparent the left this liberal news media is and what their true gender is, is incredibly politically naive or accepting of their position as kingmaker. the news media is supposed to be an objective fair and balanced entity whose only responsibility is to accurately report the news and let the people decide.
so if you believe that they are fair and balanced then you are naive. and if you agree they're not then your argument and your point is moot.

For Donald Trump, a day of political whiplash on immigration

Quote:
COLUMBUS, Ohio — For weeks, Donald Trump flirted with a self-described "softening" of the hard-line immigration policies that propelled him to the Republican nomination, raising the hopes of party officials, some Hispanic leaders and skeptical voters unnerved by his presidential candidacy.

On Wednesday, he appeared on the brink of embracing that shift as he traveled to Mexico for a dramatic visit with President Enrique Pena Nieto. Against the backdrop of grand diplomatic pageantry, Trump lavished praise on America's southern neighbor and pointedly avoided insisting publicly that Mexico pay for the wall he's pledged to build along the U.S.-Mexico border.

He was measured and soft-spoken, almost deferential as he read carefully off prepared notes.

Within hours, Trump wiped it all away.

Quote:
Clinton's campaign was unshaken by Trump's day. Campaign chairman John Podesta first declared Trump "choked" by not raising the issue of payment for a border wall with Pena Nieto, then later accused the Republican of having lied about the meeting.

"What we saw today from a man who claims to be the ultimate 'deal maker' is that he doesn't have the courage to advocate for his campaign promises when he's not in front of a friendly crowd," Podesta said.
