@bobsal u1553115,
More like bankruptcy of the brain. The guy's a racial bigot, a big mouth, and an idiot of the third kind: rich, stupid, and a loud mouth.

@Brand X,
The US makes sex into a political football that has no effect. Europeans laugh at us.

Trump wants to follow in the shoes of Kim Jong Un. He'll kill his own uncle to obtain more power.

The TPP isn't a treaty. It's an open door to corporate piracy.

The Daily Stormer, a leading neo-Nazi news site, endorsed Trump on June 28. “Trump is willing to say what most Americans think: it’s time to deport these people,” the site said in its endorsement. It then urged white men to “vote for the first time in our lives for the one man who actually represents our interests.”

@Builder,
Trade agreement, Treaty - pretty much the same sort of stuff. We broke them before, we'll break them again.

@bobsal u1553115,
It's not an agreement when the details are kept secret. Corporate pirates using laws they created to loot and pillage other nations with impunity. Have you not been following this? Been thrashing out the minutae in secret for about a decade.

From today's Mail......

God help America: Imagine you could only vote for Farage or Corbyn... No wonder the US is worried, writes Sir Christopher Meyer

(NOTE: In the UK, Mr Farage is a right wing nutter, Mr Corbyn is his equivalent on the left)

Snippet: -

"Like a lot of my American friends, I watched in fascinated horror last week’s debate between the seven candidates for the Republican Party nomination to the US presidency.
It was politics as blood sport: venomous and angry, a competition in verbal excess.
I could not get out of my mind that bar room scene in the first Star Wars film, when Harrison Ford is confronted by a row of interplanetary grotesques.
It is genuinely alarming that one of the two Republican frontrunners – Donald Trump, the bouffant-haired billionaire demagogue, and Ted Cruz, the hard-right Cuban-American senator from Texas – could be the next president of the United States, still by far the world’s greatest military and economic power.
Democrat Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, is under vigorous challenge from the veteran Left-winger, Bernie Sanders, a kind of American Jeremy Corbyn.
This is at a moment in history when the world has rarely been in greater need of a steady hand in the Oval Office.
It is not easy to see how it can be provided by either Trump or Cruz, with their crude, xenophobic rantings, or by Sanders, whose experience of international relations has rarely strayed beyond the small New England state of Vermont."

Maybe it's like Affordable Care Act. We have to pass it to find out what's in it?

The article is clearly biassed towards a repug victory, and Sanders's experience, and knowledge base, is broad enough to hand Ben Bernanke his own arse on the fiscal policy of the fed. He's clearly the choice for the people, but the US is an oligarchy, and all this electioneering is window dressing. The puppet is likely already to have been chosen, and while a congress that has no approval in the eyes of the public remains, it's neither here nor there who gets the nod as the figurehead.

Yeah, bullshit it is. Ten or more years of thrashing out the details in backroom deals isn't representative democracy. There's a word for this kind of governing; it's fascism.
