It looks like business as usual as GOP Senator insert earmark into legislation...

How will the tea party respond?
If they react like okie did, they will deny it is an earmark (based on the fact that a Republican did it I guess.)

@eurocelticyankee,
Yes, I did enjoy the song. I am well acquainted with the late Luke Kelly.

PErhaps, we should start an Irish music thread?

Is there a thread devoted just to Palin? If there is not, there needs to be. The woman makes herself into the news to get talked about everyday. She seems to be on a rant with Michelle Obama. She now has issues with Michelle Obama's campaign on obesity awareness; somehow suggesting it is another instance of big government to try and make people aware of the problem we have in the US with obesity.

In case someone out there says we don't really have that problem (I can't imagine who):

@revelette,
There is more than one palin thread. Just type her name into the search box at the top of the A2K page. The threads will come up and you can choose the one you like best.

@revelette,
I followed the link you provided to the palin rant against Michelle Obama. The funny thing is that there was another piece provided by yahoo this morning on Michelle that made me feel sorry for her.

Michelle lives in a fishbowl, although she hardly the activist First Lady that Rosalynn Carter or Hilary Clinton were or the constant presence that Nancy Reagan was. On the other hand, she is not as out of sight as Laura Bush was. That's fine.

What we seem to forget is that each First Lady is first and foremost an individual woman who just happened to have been the wife of a man elected to the presidency.

Palin and her daughter (on Dancing with the Stars) have publicly whined about the criticism they receive. If anyone should be sensitive to Michelle's position, it should be sarah.

It is based upon facts, parados. Maybe you would be well advised to actually look at the legislation and what experts are saying, rather than the Democratic Party spin and Associated Press lying and slanting? Other very similar settlements were also in the bill, and they are not being called earmarks by Democrats. That was the purpose of the bill to settle lawsuits and issues between the government and indian tribes. You need to become either more informed or more honest, parados.
http://southcapitolstreet.com/2010/11/24/democrats-accuse-gop-senator-of-breaking-pledge-on-earmarks-true/
"Dan DuBray, a spokesman for the Bureau of Relocation, part of the Interior Department, says the $ 200 million was part of a settlement they negotiated with the tribe, and that everyone agreed it was a good idea to pair it with the black farmers’ legislation, because by law settlements such as this must be approved by Congress.
“We don’t see it as an earmark at all,” said Dan DuBray. Also included in the 272-page legislation are settlements for other Native American groups outside Kyl’s state of Arizona: Montana’s Crow Tribe and New Mexico’s Taos Pueblo and Pojoaque River Basin communities. Democrats Max Baucus (Montana) and Jeff Bingaman (New Mexico) championed funding for those projects.
Anti-earmark crusaders also say the Democrats’ claim falls short. “There’s no way Congress (Republican or Democrat) would consider this an official earmark,” said Steve Ellis, spokesman for the anti-earmark group Taxpayers for Common Sense, in an email to CNN. “

@okie,
What the Tea Party is saying is top all earmarks. The legislation has no bearing on that account.

I 'm sure that 's not true.

NOt even identical twins r created equal.

Sufficient scrutiny will reveal differences.

The twins themselves will openly disclose their differences,
and thay have DONE so.

No; your assertion is overly broad and, therefore, it is inaccurate.
Better refinement and precision of targeting is necessary to bring it into truth.

@OmSigDAVID,
david, so it's your opinion that even twins are not created equal. what in hell are you talking about? the issue under discussion is how some men treat other men. it has nothing to do with birth. you are an idiot first class.

if you want to talk about biology, go find another thread. this is about politics.
