@revelette,
revelette, It's a joke. Many conservatives and seniors believe what the conservatives have been spreading during the creation of the universal health care legislation. I believe Sarah Palin was the first to use that term.

Saving money for Medicare or Obamacare by not approving certain treatments for the sick is not a joke, cicerone imposter.
You might wish to listen to George Will in regard to the unintended consequences of Obamacare.

@okie,
okie, George Will doesn't explain anything; only the typical conservative fear mongering.

Where are the numbers, and where are the "unintended consequences" of Obamacare?

Please answer these questions. Maybe, you have the answers.

@cicerone imposter,
It hasn't had time to manifest all of the effects yet, ci. Just wait, and you will find out.
By the way, George Will is no dumb guy, in my opinion.

@okie,
George Will is a spokesperson for the conservatives, so he's got to be a smart guy. Yup, logical as usual.

Manifest in time.....we'll wait till hell freezes over!

One technique is to enact a federal statute
by whose terms full faith and credit of a
concealed handgun carry license is in effect
thru out the entire nation, like a driver's license and a wedding license.

Let 's try that.

@cicerone imposter,
It appears to me that you are more willing to demand specific answers from others than to provide them yourself.

The trasnsfers of liability to State Medicaid budgets embedded in Obamacare have been widely publicized as have the increasing examples of financial crises among many state governments - California and New York being merely the most egregious. This stuff and the fact that Medicaid in most states, along with law enforcement and prisions, are the largest elements in already overrburdened state budgets.

It appears to me that you are merely hiding behind a "show me proof" standard that you don't live up to yourself.

I thought that Conservatives wanted more functions transferred from the Federal to the State level! Laughing

@georgeob1,
georgeob, I'd like to know when I have failed to answer questions that doesn't insult anyone's intelligence. Stupid questions will be ignored.

However, I appreciate the fact that you have answered my question - partially - about Obamacare and state budgets. I have not seen anything on that issue myself, so I'm in no position to confirm or deny its impact. State budgets have been in crisis for many years in California. How much more Obamacare will increase that crisis is an unknown until somebody provides the numbers. Maybe, you can provide the source for your info.

What I have been observing about our health care system in the US is the simple fact that as premiums continue to increase, less people are being insured. We can't afford doing nothing, so what are your solutions for this crisis?

If you have kept up with my challenges on Obamacare, you would know I have had plenty of criticisms. However, I also feel doing nothing is not an option.

@Cycloptichorn,
fugging cyclo Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

True enough. However, I was referring to merely one of the accounting scams used to rationalize a piece of legislation that, if left unmodified will have enormous and largely unanticipated (or at least unacknowledged) downstream side effects. This one is what led to the ill-fated Nebraska pay-off.

To be more accurate, I would like to see government at all levels do less and at the same time to see a larger fraction of what remains be done at more local government levels - more by cities, counties and states and less by the Feds, states, etc.

@georgeob1,
Well, the 'Nebraska payoff' wasn't in the final legislation. But I of course see what you mean.

Nevertheless, transferring more responsibilities to the local and state level IS going to lead to higher local and state debts and higher state taxes. It's something for Conservatives to get used to.

@georgeob1,
I'm generally in favor of smaller government.

As I've said often of my politics, most of my code follows the conservative goals, but I'm a far left liberal when it comes down to universal health care. We already spend twice what the Europeans spend on their universal health care, and we have some 40 million without health insurance.

All this while our federal deficit continues to increase at untenable billions/trillions. This cannot remain ignored.
