Here is more than you would ever want to know about the Green Bay Packers, located in the smallest city with an NFL team.
The Packers are owned not by a couple of rich, old white guys. Rather it is a non-profit company owned by shareholders. 112,120 shareholders own the 4.7 million shares. Shares pay no dividends and give the owners no special rights regarding tickets etc.
Shares do not trade on a stock exchange. They can be passed on to heirs but, if someone wants to sell, shares can only be sold back to the club at a minimal price.
No single entity can control more than 200,000 shares.
An effigy of EhBeth hangs in the town square.

On a more serious note, I see from the BBC that the violence against sports fans in Italy continues. Naples: Liverpool fans beaten and stabbed.
I doubt that it is actually sports related. Rather, simple street thugs.

Up until 1997, if there had been any profit left over if the Packers were sold, the money was to go to the local VFW to build a soldiers memorial.

In 1997 that was changed so that any profits went to the Packers Foundation.
That foundation supports various charities throughout the midwest.
