@realjohnboy,
UCLA-Washington State 20-14 in third quarter.
Not that even I care.
But I still somehow get the alumni magazine, and the cover makes it one to save.
All black with Wooden standing at the bottom right. Different sport, but hey.

@ossobuco,
Nothing to do with the NFL. But that matters little here.

YINZER

That is the word for today. AndyClubber is even more of a Virginia redneck them I am. But his long-time lady, Katie, is from Pittsburgh Steeler land, which is perhaps partially the reason he fell in love with her.
If you have nothing better to do, Google in "Yinzer."

Despite the fact that our broadcast media now tend to talk in accent-neutral voices, there are still places in the U.S. where we still speak "funny."

Can you still detect, Spendi, from listening to people talk, where they are from?
I suspect the answer is yes.

@realjohnboy,
I was listening to the University of Delaware v James MAdison University Fooball game today and the accents of those guys were typical Va Piedmont. You could barely understand their Cornish Accents

@realjohnboy,
I have a general idea but the fine distinctions I have only apply to a fairly small geographical district. I could determine class once by how they kissed. Estimates of father's assets sort of thing. I preferred those whose fathers were skint.

@Region Philbis,
The Chinese student told his professor, "The male part is yang, and the female part is yinzer."

Excellent! We have a full house but I am missing a pick from McGentrix in Seattle @ St Louis.
The action here comes after the early games, where we are largely in agreement.

We are unanimous in picking Indy over Jax. Only Rhys has Carolina vs New Orleans; Ms Cowdoc alone has Oakland over Houston; Alex, of course, picks Detroit while everyone else has Green Bay. Region and George refuse to pick the Jets - going for Buffalo. Edgar and Lmur choose SF over Atlanta. And Tico and Rhys have Denver against Tennessee.
We are split 14-10 on San Diego vs Arizona, favoring the Chargers, and New England over Miami. 15 of the 24 of us have Chicago beating the Giants.

Ehbeth agrees with the majority on all 14 games. Mysteryman, Liontamerx, Cowdoc, Fbaezer and Cyclo think like the most of us on all but 1 game.
Once again, Alex is the outlier. He agrees with the majority on just 8 of the games.

Flash! This Just In From The BBC!
The UK has set a mattress domino toppling record. 400 mattresses - with people attached - fell over in Newcastle. One right after the other. That crushed a record of a mere 20 in the U.S.
