@Ragman,
I've already said that I didn't introduce the subject. The first rule of a thread is to continue a conversation. Take your objection up with whoever it was who did introduce the matter.

Are you saying that if somebody worked into a post about the insignia of the teams that Hitler was a good guy we have to let it stand unanswered in case we upset your equanimity?

I take people as I find them. If you don't do that you're a dead duck in a pub.

@Ragman,
Two people have weighed in on the matter plus one on the other side. rjb in fact. Four or five people have been involved with this.

Can't you scroll past it as you were advised?

@spendius,
I'll repeat again...can you (and others) keep subject such as rape and inflammatory hot-button issues out of this thread?

I'll put you on ignore on general principles because you're really an asshole!

Tico, JPB and AndyClubber are at 11-4. All 3 have Green Bay tonight with Tico predicting a final score of 23-20. JPB says 21-10 while Andy thinks it will be 24-10.
EhBeth, Jespah and Edgar are at 10-5. EhBeth and Edgar also have Green Bay so they can't win the week. Jespah has Chicago winning 24-17. If the Bears do beat the Packers there will be a 4 way tie to break.

Due to a technical malfunction in my very sophisticated scoring system - I got my red and green highlighters mixed up - I shorted Ragman a win. He, too, is 10-5. He has Chicago tonight in a low scoring game. 17-10.

We are on Able to Know. Which is dedicated to the advancement of human knowledge by it's very name. A thread on football score predictions which consisted of nothing else but score predictions would advance human knowledge less than the distance a New York bedbug could jump after a blood-fest on a sleeping slob.

It would be trolling the site assuming Able to Know is more than just a statement: and we know how Americans are fond of statements, to catch self-improvers who are only interested in the improvement of others.

If that's unintelligble Raggie--**** off.

@realjohnboy,
Thanks for correcting the error. I wondered if my math was off. My friend, being a huge Packers fan, is hoping I lose the contest and make all of this be a moot point.

I see that George Blanda has died at the age of 83. He played for 26 years in the AFL/NFL, from 1949 to 1975. Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Houston, Chicago and Oakland, where he was older than the head coach, John Madden.
He played in some 340 games, 109 of them as QB but a lot of them as the kicker of extra points and field goals. Sometimes he was QB and kicker in the same game.

My earliest memories of pro football were Y.A. Tittle and George Blanda.

What on earth does "may or may not have raped a woman" mean?

It means he was accused of rape, and arrested and charged with sexual assault. He admitted to an adulterous encounter but claimed it was consensual. The charge was ultimately dismissed, so he was not not convicted of the crime.

I frankly cannot imagine why this discussion is offending anyone's sensibilities. It's a minor diversion ... spendi's just defining the parameters of his misogyny. No biggie. Some folks just need to chill out.

That being said ... GO PACKERS!

@Ragman,
I remember them somewhat, but I was into college football first. Anyway, what a long career George Blanda had.

@spendius,
Sad to say, it seems like Able to Know (and this really isn't a criticism of this website; it's just a statement of how it functions in reality) far more often than not is Able to Opine and Blab and sometimes (like other website forums) Able to Flame.

By the way, I like your comparison to the New Yord bedbug. Laughing
