The early games are over. A funk hangs over Houston and New Orleans.

AndyClubber is in the lead here at 8-1. He had Houston. Ehbeth, Tico and Rhys are right behind at 7-2.

Ha. Seattle takes down San Diego. Johnboy and JPB predicted that one.
Through the day games Tico, JPB and AndyClubber are 10-4.

I wish they would let me stay up to see how this turns out. But no. A blue pill and a green one. I am tucked away for the night.

@edgarblythe,
I was torn about the game - here on the Pick-Um thread, I picked Miami (not a stellar week, as it happens); on ffootball, Sanchez was my quarterback today and I wanted him to do well.

@Region Philbis,
You got to like Vick's performance yesterday. I'll seek out any broadcasted game of the Eagles just because of his exciting level of play; however, I'll still detest what his past deeds - dog-torture and fighting with all my heart. I feel he paid his price and bottomed out, but hes trying to atone and work hard to overcome his past. He admittedly didn't work hard when he was with the Falcons. Gotta give him his due now.

Man, he looked amazing in that victory. He exemplified the deadly combo of running and (YES) hard-throwing QB with accuracy. As long as he is protected reasonably well, he will be tough to beat.

@Ragman,
There was an excellent opinion piece in our newspaper last week. According to a poll, the most detested athlete in the country was Michael Vick, because of his history with dogs. The most admired athletes were Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant, in spite of their history with wives. Thought-provoking in regard to American's social priorities, to say the least. Although the latter didn't utilize physical torture, they obviously treated their spouses with something considerably less than great respect. And the public apparently feels that is acceptable behavior, or at least can be forgiven much more easily than the sins of Michael Vick. Any other thoughts on the subject, gents - and especially ladies?

@CowDoc,
We have embraced Michael Vick here in Philly and we look at this as a great opportunity to teach him of our huge history of culturally derived respect for animals. (As long as he keeps pitchin da ball to the recievers, or that he runs some of his own TDs)
Kinda like he did yesterday.

@farmerman,
I just learned through the media that Vick is turning down and spurning endorsements and public appearances. He is currently exercising good judgement, an uncharacteristic quality exhibited by many of today's sports stars.

What do you consider great respect to consist of in practice? Have you evidence that the wives deserved to be treated with great respect and that they treated Kobe and Tiger with great respect?

The public might have taken such considerations into account.
