Appropriate guest attire for a (semi?) formal wedding?

Checked out Boden -- the sale stuff that's appropriate isn't crazy on sale. And if things are trending more formal than semi-formal, this probably isn't fancy enough. I can imagine it looking great on you though:

@littlek,
Linen?

I'm the one on a2k who likes linen and doesn't mind wrinkles, but... is it plasticized somehow?

@ossobuco,
That may be true for the first dress many of us liked. Silk can sulk.

Unless it shantung or Douppioni, silk is too flimsy for me.

@Butrflynet,
It's beautiful Bnet - but too long for me.

@littlek,
I like the black one and it's reasonably priced too. Along with some longer
pearl necklaces and a pearl bracelet, it will look elegant enough for just about
anything.

@littlek,
You can shorten them yourself, it's no big deal.

@CalamityJane,
Pants and straight hemmed skirts I'll hem - not so sure about flouncy hems. I could have it altered.

I bought a dress today. It is this dress, but in black (my only option). It is way too girlie for me, but I like it anyway. I will try to have it altered to lift the hemline to knee level and hem the chiffon to the same level as the lining. (I so wish I found that color...)

@littlek,
That's a nice dress. Simple enough that it can be used for other events, but not so simple that it can't be used for a formal event (at the current length).

If the wedding turns out to be semi-formal, the dress will be perfect (at the current length or hemmed-up slightly).

@littlek,
Pretty! Why hem it though? I like that length.

@ossobuco,
Make that three. How tall are you? I don't think you are shorter than I am.
