Gotta love Texans. They like to live on the edge. If we have a gun problem, let's just introduce more guns.

A unique loophole in a new security procedure means a gun permit is like a special-access pass into the domed building, allowing people who are certified to carry a gun to bypass lines at the metal detectors that were set up after a shooting incident earlier this year.

@parados,
it's always a good idea to be fully loaded when you go to any kind of office building

I am beginning to think i should endorse the maniacs calling for the right to carry.

Yes, some innocent people will be killed, but, maybe the hard core carriers and promoters will fall victim to their own violence, fighting it out a la OK Corral, eliminating each other and their gun carrying fervor at the same time. The rest of us would be allowed to return to our sane and civilized goals of making life better for most of the residents of the planet.

@plainoldme,
Interesting distinctions you make. You and all non gun carrying folks in this country (and perhaps the world) are sane, civilized and dedicated to making life better for almost everyone.

Neither your erudition nor your logic are what you so often proclaim them to be.

all I can say George is you have bizarre expectations for a 'net forum. What's next, will you going to tell us congress is rational?

@dyslexia,
I was merely pointing out the stark differences between the reality of POM and the high standards she so often claims to meet. My motivation is her hypocrisy and the the bizarre anger and self-proclaimed virtue with which she so often critisizes others.

@djjd62,
I agree. Neo and Trinity have a constitutional right to be fully armed whenever they are in a government building. After all, you never know when you'll run into an Agent that needs killin.

@plainoldme,
It would be nice if you did.
Of course, using your statement, the founding fathers were maniacs alsao, or did you forget this...

@plainoldme,
Are you now arguing that the 2nd amendment doesnt apply now, because it was ratified so long ago?

What other parts of the bill of rights do you think are irrelevant now?

@parados,
Too bad San Francisco didn't have such a loophole. Dan White would not have had to eat so many Twinkies and crawl in through a window... Rolling Eyes

@parados,
It makes perfect sense; there is no point in herding the public
thru metal detectors to find out if thay r carrying guns
if that is perfectly LEGAL. What difference does it make ???

Just so I'm clear on this, are we saying concealed carry permits constitute the well regulated part of "well regulated militia" ?

No. The Founders meant private militia, like a volunteer fire dept,
as distinct from "selected militia" who were publicly funded.
The militia of Article I Section 8 were examples of "selected militia."

Why, I guess these folks . . . most likely misguided liberals all . . . fail to see that only people with UNLICENSED guns are dangerous.

Why no one with a LICENSED gun would ever, ever use a gun incorrectly. No one with LICENSED gun would ever, ever shoot at his/her partner or child in anger. All people with LICENSED guns will be instantly canonized upon their deaths.

Gee, I hope Andrew Breitbart doesn't read a2k.

Gawd knows, he is too thick to understand sarcasm.

Of course, as a right winger without a sense of personal responsibility, he will just say that he received this post from a conveniently anonymous third party.
