to the feminists the law is the right tool for the job for any age, which I agree is sad and it is a mistake. The feminist response to DA's using child protection laws to charge teens for sexting is instructive....from what I have seen it appears that most feminists generally approve though they have some qualms about this maybe being a step too far which might stir up some resistance to their program. They have also generally been fine with teen girls getting charged, under the logic that it sucks to go after females but these stupid girls need to be taught a lesson for their own good. We saw a sliver of sex positive feminists object though, those who see slutty behaviour as being female empowerment, which was good to see. I have been disappointed in the milk-toast response from people who care about individual rights though..... this idea that teens have no rights has gotten very strong, it will be difficult to beat it back so long as the culture of fear goes unchallenged.

I should add that there has been a good deal of hand wringing about using laws that were 100% intended to protect children as grounds to charge children. It has been a HUH.What.Wait moment, but from what I have seen it has not been the feminists who object, this has been a grass roots generated movement, which has developed into conferences where the consensus is that this can not be allowed to go un checked. The consensus is that sexting is a problem, which I dont agree with, but that we need a new way to deal with it because using these laws is not proper.

My main point is that this is one of a long list of instances where the feminists have been on the wrong side of the issue. Why we listen to them at all at this point I have no idea.

You know I owe you an apology Hawkeye as for a very long time I was under the impression that no such feminists as you had been painting could exist in the real world.

That you was way out there in the twilight zone however thanks to firefly and some of the other females posters here they surely do exist and exist on this website.

Anyone who can not see the sin of placing two ten years into the criminal justice system for playing doctor with an eight year old is everything you had been warning about.

A person who can not response to a news story of a four year old being suspended from school for hugging a teacher aid with just a sane comment that such is crazy, is everything you had been posting about.

Not caring at all for the 255 men had been found so far to had been wrongly ID and convicted of rape and spending decades behind bars and passing it off as no big deal is a sick feminist indeed.

Oh and in cases of false charges of sexual assault causing harm to innocence men it is not somehow the fault of the false accuser but the justice system instead. No support offer for increasing the penalty for such behaviors beyond the minor crime of filing of false police report.

Women are not responsible for their own actions such as drinking enough to cloud their own judgment and their sexual partners need to pay the price by facing criminal charges.

Given the forever nature of the internet as a parent I would view sexting by a daughter of pictures to the poor judgment of a teenage boy as a problem.

Hate to have my daughter up for a seat on the US Supreme Court forty years later only to have such pictures come to the surface for example.

Child porn laws in this content however is insane.

the younger folk are no where near as repressive about nudity and sexuality as their parents are, in 40 years no one is going to care about pictures of nude teens. This is going to be like tattoos, where old farts tell the young "dont do it you will never get a decent job and you will regret that tattoo a few years from now". The young dont listen, and they get jobs the same if they have them or not, and potential mates often love them, tattooing is exploding in popularity and there is no huge line to get them burned off.

It is the old people who dont get it, not the young. Talk to a young person about regretting a teen sexting picture when they are 30 and they will tell you "I look hot, and I like myself, there is nothing to regret about showing myself off, now or ever"
