And this must be Bateye, seeing himself as a sexually free spirit, a modern day Pan, playing his song to arrouse "the collective" from their "anti-sex" lethargy.

@Arella Mae,
AM if you are willing and eager to throw men into prison over the consent issue and alcohol and not women then all you have is a great excuse to attack and harm men.

I have never said that only men should be thrown in prison over the consent issue and alcohol. My stance is this ANYONE, MALE OR FEMALE, breaking the law needs to suffer the consequences of that law.

You would love to see police raid and take away anyone who is into the BDSM scene as no woman could give valid consent for such behaviors so let lock up the men and placed the women into force mental health treatment programs.

You mean like you think us crazy Christians should be locked up? For once, try really reading this, okay? I, personally, find BDSM demeaning and disgusting, but that's my personal opinion. But, when it comes to older men breaking the law and engaging in these activities with underrage girls, yeah, I have a real problem with that. You should have a real problem with it too. But, as we have all established, you and your pervert buddy only care about yourself and what gratification you can get and it doesn't matter about the other person.

Oh, and I find it pretty telling that you didn't say a word about my solution for you and hawkeye. Are we to assume you actually think it might be a solution?

Whattsamatter Bill? Can't handle it when you are but, once again, proven wrong? If you would read what I post instead of what you think it says and what you think I am thinking, it might help.

You are clearly being completely dishonest as you know full well that women are never repeat are never charges with with rape for having sex with a drunken man.

The laws as enforce only hold the man response for sex with a partner under the influence and by you supporting those laws as enforce you are also agreeing that this is right and proper.

So stop playing games and start being a little bit honest here.

@BillRM,
Where did I ever say a woman has been or has not been charged with rape for having sex with a drunken man? I have never made any such comment.

You keep implying or flat out stating that I don't want women held responsible for taking advantage of a drunken man and IT IS A FLAT OUT LIE! I have consistently throughout this thread said ANYONE, MALE OR FEMALE should be held accountable. How many times do I have to say it for you to understand it?

So who is playing games? Um.....................oh yeah.....................you are.

I know you are slow but come on now even you are not that slow.

Hell if you are that slow your husband/sexual partner should be arrested for rape as you clearly would not have the mental capabilities to grant a valid consent to sex.

You need professional help. You accuse me of saying things I haven't said and when you get caught in a lie you then try to make it look as if I am the stupid one. Isn't it strange how you never can post the "lie" you claim as something I said? I really hate to tell you this, but the only one fooled by you is you. Oh wait, Hawkeye and Ionus are fooled by you too.

Bill haven't you figured it out yet? I don't care what you think. If possible I would feel you have about -500% credibility. You have proven yourself a liar so many times it has gotten to the point of I am pretty much just gonna laugh at you.

You crossed a line with me. There is no going back. Nothing you ever say to or about me will mean a single thing. If I wasn't so bored right now at work, I probably wouldn't even waste any time posting to you.

Okay Bill, let's settle this. Kindly post any statement I made concerning women should not be or have not been charged with a crime for having sex with a drunken man. Surely, if I have said it, you can produce it?

Yes and each time I have changed my mind and talked to you. This is just another one of your tactics for NOT addressing the lies you spew. Now, you want to start mocking my Christianity or God? That is what you do when you are really desperate to cover your lies.

Here's a very current rape charge, involving a well known star college athlete and his friends. The scene: A hotel in the Bahamas, two flirtatious intoxicated girls, and some college guys. They meet at the hotel bar, they all go back to a hotel room, they engage in sexual activity, and...a rape charge. Why? Because the girls may have been too intoxicated to give legal consent. In fact, when a girl is so drunk she's vomiting on the floor, it's fair to assume she might be too drunk to knowingly consent to sex.

No date-rape drugs found in baseball star Wittels investigation
BY SIOBHAN MORRISSEY AND JAMES H. BURNETT III

Police thought maybe the girls had been slipped a date-rape drug.
But Tuesday, authorities in the Bahamas said blood tests given to two girls -- who claim a Florida International University baseball star and his friends raped them -- showed only that they had been drinking.

Three men, FIU slugger Garrett Wittels, 20, and Jonathan Oberti and Robert Rothschild, both 21, have been charged with raping two 17-year-old American tourists Dec. 20. They admit having sex with the girls, but insist it was consensual.

They, along with Steven Tromberg, 21, were at the Atlantis Resort and Casino on Paradise Island celebrating the 21st birthday of David Shapiro.

Although police questioned Tromberg and Shapiro, the two were released and have returned to Miami-Dade County.

``[David] went to celebrate his birthday,'' said his father, Steven Shapiro. ``It was a family trip. And several of his friends from childhood were invited along.''

Wittels, Oberti and Rothschild were released on $10,000 bond each. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 18 before Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.

Rape kits were performed on both of the alleged victims at Princess Margaret Hospital in Nassau. Blood samples taken at the time to help authorities determine whether they had been drugged showed no evidence of a date-rape drug, according to a source close to the investigation.

`JUST ALCOHOL'

``Because the girls said they couldn't remember what happened, they took blood samples from the girls,'' said the source. ``There was no evidence found of any drugs -- just alcohol.''

All five men also submitted DNA samples to match against any possible evidence left at the scene of the alleged crime.

Police found five condoms and vomit from one of the girls on the hotel room floor, the source said.

The father of one of the girls called police after his daughter and her companion returned to their hotel room, the source said.

Attempts to reach the girls and their parents Tuesday were unsuccessful.

Sources say surveillance video from Dec. 20 shows the teenage girls, whose families were also staying at Atlantis, drinking at the resort's Dragon's Ultra Lounge and occasionally kissing each other when the five friends approached the bar area.

The source says the video shows the girls gesturing for the young men to join them, and that Wittels, Rothschild and Oberti obliged.

However, Steven Shapiro said his son and Tromberg remained in the bar and casino area.

``I went to bed at quarter till 2 [a.m.],'' Steven Shapiro said. ``But I can tell you that David remained in a gaming area till well past the time this incident is said to have occurred, as did Steven. In fact, Steven sat up in the gaming area talking to my wife's sister till after 3 a.m.''

The source close to the investigation confirmed surveillance video shows Shapiro and Tromberg in the casino.

SEX IN HOTEL ROOM

The three accused men took the girls back to one of their hotel rooms, where Wittels and Oberti each separately engaged in sex with one girl, and Rothschild had sex with both, the source said.

In the Bahamas, the age of legal consent for sex is 16. But the drinking age is 18.

The rape charges stem from the girls having been drinking; it was believed they might have been so impaired that they were unable to consent to the sex.

A COMMON CHARGE

Wayne Munroe, a Bahamian attorney who is representing all five friends, said Tuesday that it is ``easy'' to get arrested for rape in the Bahamas.

``If somebody is charged with rape, the general inclination is to think there must be something to it,'' Munroe said.

According to Munroe, the Bahamas has ``an appallingly high acquittal rate'' for rapes. But, he insisted that many of those charges should not have been filed in the first place.

Munroe said this arrest-first, ask-questions-later policy evolved from a complaint by a former U.S. ambassador who alleged the Bahamian police did not take rape cases seriously.

A U.S. State Department official on Tuesday said, ``We regularly engage with host country officials through our embassies and consulates around the world to encourage and support the strengthening of institutions and the rule of law protecting the welfare of all individuals who may have been victims of crime and to ensure the protection of the rights under local law of those accused of crimes.''

Wittels, an infielder on the FIU men's baseball team, holds the second-longest hitting streak in NCAA history, at 56 consecutive games.

Retired Major League Baseball star Robin Ventura set the NCAA record at 58 games, while a player at Oklahoma State University, in 1987.

Wittels is believed to have a good chance of breaking Ventura's college record during the upcoming college baseball season, which starts for FIU on Feb. 18.

It is too soon to know what effect the arrest might have on Wittels' eligibility for FIU's 2011 season or what, if any, steps the NCAA will take.

``We will continue to gather any possible information as it becomes available,'' said FIU athletic director Pete Garcia.

Chris Radford, a spokesman for the NCAA, wrote in an e-mail Tuesday that any sanctions that could affect Wittels' standing on the FIU baseball team would be issued by the university and not the NCAA.

I think BillRM is making an enormous mistake by simply carping about the issue of "consent" when it concerns an extremely intoxicated female. As long as there are sexual assault laws that consider very intoxicated women as legally unable to give consent, THESE LAWS MUST BE OBEYED OR RAPE CHARGES MIGHT FOLLOW.

If BillRM cares, at all, about the welfare of other men, he should be urging them to be aware of these laws, and to abide by them, to avoid the possibility of rape charges. Someone who chooses to violate these laws is not "innocent"--he will have committed rape.

As for BillRM's complaint that women aren't being arrested for sexual assaults in similar circumstances, when their partners are very intoxicated, he must be too dumb to realize that MEN AREN"T REPORTING BEING RAPED. Rolling Eyes When men report being sexually assaulted, their complaints are investigated by the police.

BillRM just doesn't want to see men held responsible when they violate sexual assault laws and someone lodges a complaint. He'd be far better off advising all men to abide by those laws. But, obviously, he's not bright enough to realize that.

@firefly,
Now seriously, what kind of a man is even going to want to have sex with a woman that is vomiting? Oh yeah...........................a rapist.

Bill cannot even admit he might possibly have been wrong about something he claimed you or I have said. Instead, what he does is tries to hit you below the belt with things that do not even pertain to the discussion. Pride goeth before a fall as the saying goes.

I totally cannot stand hypocrites. I can even tell you why I can't stand them. I used to be one and it is something I hated in myself.

If he could just one time admit he might be in error................no nevermind, it wouldn't change a thing. If he actually did admit he was wrong I would only imagine that it's part of his game.
