Quote:
According to the report, released today by the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), “Sexual Victimization in State and Federal Prisons Reported by Inmates, 2007,” 4.5 percent of the state and federal prisoners surveyed reported sexual victimization in the past 12 months. Given a national prison population of 1,570,861, the BJS findings suggest that in one year alone more than 70,000 prisoners were sexually abused.

@Arella Mae,
Oh, I can't pity them because they are too plain nasty. I pity the women in their lives.

I couldn't believe he was so (insert proper word) to not know what I meant when I made that comparison about persecution.

Never underestimate how concrete and dense BillRM is.

What you said about persecution is very true about Hawkeye. He, in fact, says that sort of thing all the time.
He really believes that the more he is attacked the more that proves he is right, and speaking the truth, but that people just aren't ready to hear it or can't handle it. That's an interesting rationalization. Keeps him from dealing with the fact he may be wrong, obnoxious, offensive, arrogant, full of hot air, uncaring, self centered, etc.

@firefly,
Yes they are nasty but seriously, it has been my experience people like that are truly miserable people so they take it out on others. I think revelling in negative attention shows just how desperate they must be and I do pity them for that.

Um, is it just me or did Bill really just prove what I said was indeed a valid analogy. Intrepid, where's that laughing mouse?

@Arella Mae,
In prison, a man may be faster to report a rape. For one thing, he might need medical treatment. For another thing, he might not want to continue to remain in the same housing area as his rapist.

There is a lot more male on male consenual sex in prisons and jails than people think.

This one really blew my mind! He claimed his victims took advantage of him "because I was an underage kid--I was a minor at the time". That part is on the video you can see if you click on the Web page link. Watch it.

Serial Rapist Gets 149 Years In Prison, Blames Victims For Crime: "They Took Advantage Of Me" [Video]

A 20-year-old man in Sacramento was sentenced to over 149 years in prison for raping two women at gun point, although the crime is shocking, what the man had to say to the victims left the courtroom in disbelief.

According to Sacramento's CBS 13, convicted serial rapist Sammie Lee Nichols took his opportunity that was intended to serve as time to apologize the victims for his actions, to blame them for “taking advantage of him”.

“I told my lawyer I didn't rape those women,” Nichols said. “Was I wrong for misleading them into thinking we would have a relationship and getting money, yes; but I am not a rapist.”

Although Nichols states that both relationships were consensual, the women claim different, claiming that he hid in their garages and closets before attacking them at gun point.

“I didn't believe in the death penalty or carrying a gun, until now,” one victim said.

Nichols, who has never been in trouble prior to these incidents, was sentenced to over 149 years in prison after the judge ruled him a danger to society.

Although both the defense and the judge tried to give Nichols leniency due to abuse by his mother and growing up in foster care, it ultimately was Nichol's callous behavior that ensured he would spend the rest of his life behind bars.

@firefly,
Hmmm, if he had the gun and they were taking advantage of him, why didn't he shoot them? What a twit!

@Arella Mae,
Can you imagine being the victim of a rape by him and listening to him say those things in court?

Someone like that, who has no capacity, at all, to take responsibility for his behavior, or any ability to feel remorse, really is too dangerous to ever let out of jail. With a sentence of 149 years he won't ever get out.

@firefly,
And thank God for that firefly. I can only imagine the shock and horror those rape victims must have felt to hear such a thing. Thinking like that is beyond my comprehension.

Yesterday, I saw on TV a study of the intelligence of octopusses.
Apparently, thay r very hi; very intelligent, based on how thay did in experiments.

Thay have a main brain and another brain (or sub-brain) for each of their arms.

I was thinking that if we some day succeed in establishing
communication with them (like translation of ideas)
their thinking will probably be found to be very alien to ours.

Bad analogy in my case as I am a atheist who think that chance of there even having been a historic Jesus is only 50/50.

Wouldn't that make you an agnostic? I now you get confused.

Y9u know this how?

Note can we try harder and get my down vote up to 8 at least?

It's all a game to you. Isn't it, Bozo? They are not votes, Bozo. They are indications that people are tired of reading your nonsense.

@Intrepid,
He thinks it's an indication people are paying attention to him. Some people would rather be wanted for murder than not wanted at all. Laughing

He doesn't realize that once his post gets a thumbs down it disappears from view, so voting it down, as soon as you see his name, means you don't have to read it. It's wonderful!

Now he's so starved for attention, he's trying to trash the thread about the NYC mosque/community center.

He really is a pathetic creep.
