I really don't get it. It was one of the clearest decision in football ever. Terry clearly stopped goalkeeper from jumping and everybody knows goalkeepers are "Holy cows" in football.
I mean, if it was for some tricky penalty or not, or some playing with hand...
England really wasn't robbed.

bigdice is from Sweden (originally).

I totally agree with the "holy-cow- decision" = you learn that, when starting playing football (and here, most players get agressive, when their goalkeeper is attacked in such a way).

I didn't respond to your response Rick, and I really don't want to respond to such trick - especially, since I never ever give alcohol to non-adults ...

But, once again, rest of the world completely disagrees.

Kipling: easier written (or copied) than done.

To treat defeat as an impostor.
To go under with dignity.
No excuses.

I know, I know, this is football, and ranting is part of the game.

Only the Nationalistic fog across the Channel can prevent anyone from seeing a clear block by Terry.
What else can I say?

Can someone come up front and declare that the Portuguese cheated by not keeping a perfect turf around the penalty spot?

Well even the Swiss referee has written to the English Football Association, apologising for his inept performance an promising to return all that Nazi gold and that Switzerland will ban yodelling.

I am almost but not quite, tempted to accept his apology.

Ok,Walter?

Interesting game Netherlands-Sweden after penalty 5:4. In the stadium there was about 30°Celisus without wind. Sure, that they played first not very good.. Now the semi final : Portugal-Netherlands

today
Czech Republic-Denmark

I´m for the Czech Republic, they play just very good.

I supported Netherlands all along, but considering their beautiful penalty shots experience from WC98 and especially Euro2000, I thought that it would be cool if Sweden wins in shotout.

Then some rich guy would certainly get idea to organize biggest football even in the world.

Maracana stadium, Brasil.
200,000 people.
Award for winner - 10 million Euro
Award for loser - 5 million Euro
All TV stations around the world having live coverage...
And the game:

Penalty shotout: England vs. Netherlands

However, Dutch ocassionaly win it seems Smile

and as of stories about swiss ref I can only add one thing: there is croatian saying (probably english as well, but I don't know equivalent) that, in free translation goes something like this: "Who grabs the sword will die from sword".

English ref Riley is responsible for biggest robbery on Euro2004 (THREE clear penalties for Latvia that he "missed"), so...choose better refs next time Razz
