I don't think it's not fair. Greece plays ugly football, but they did their job. They haven't done anything "illegal".
And, actually, unlike game against Czechs, in final they were quite good opponent. Until Greek lead, Portugal was not better team - it was just dull game before goal.
MOU we are just teasing
At least I'm just teasing. I don't know whether Steve (as 41oo) is teasing too.
I know there was plenty of teasing involved
But, it actually is opinion of many people.
Well done Greece!
I saw it in The Crown, a Boddingtons house.
How did John Travolta play?
I never tease. I am always totally serious. I never tell lies, get it wrong or exaggerate. Ever. Its just the way I am. Regarding my betting exploits on the final, didn't I mention I also had a bet on Greece to win which produced £300k? I must have forgotten to mention it.
Begrudged acknowledgements to Greece, but are they really the best team in Europe? God help football if they are!
Well, Greece had the best looking goal keeper... So in my eyes they deserved to win! And as you can tell, I don't know a lot about football :-)
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
When it comes to football, beauty is in the eyes of the beerholder.
I could not watch the match yesterday as I was stuck in a traffic jam in the Heathrow car park !!!
Well Greece won. And Ronaldo cried.
Quote:After the match, Ronaldo said: "Greece have beaten some good teams and we're one of those teams.
"We were the best side in the tournament but you have to congratulate Greece because they took their chance."

Thats football. Some funny things can happen. Sometimes not so funny.
I'm pleased the Greeks won. Perhaps it will inspire them to finish the facilities for the Olympic Games next month...

Do you go for the steely-grey hair on men then? Good news for some of us!
PS. Other footballers who went grey at an early age:
Gary Lineaker (ex-England captain)
Fabrizio Ravinelli (ex-Italy)

That's typical of a Man U player - no respect! Greece won because they were the best team in the tournament - by definition.

Stylianos Giannakopoulos - to name a player from another team from Greater Manchester - certainly has a different opinion.
(You notice, Pete, that I didn't refer to Henry, Lehmann or some other players from a certain London team, did you? )
I thought Ronaldo was being quite generous to Greece. The Greeks themselves were amazed to get to the final and actually can't believe they've won it! I don't think that proves the Greek team is the best in Europe, all it proves is that they won Euro 2004. If the same teams were in a league and played a whole season of games among themselves, very few people would expect Greece to end up league champions or even in the top half.
Right, but the European Championship isn't played in a league
(There isn't a cricket world championship, or am I wrong?)
Final comments:
1. Boring final, specially the first half. Deserving winner. Most exciting moment: when the crazy guy who jumped into the field threw the Barsa shirt in Figo's face. Most heartwarming moment: to see Greece's prime minister, Karamanlis, cry of happiness.
2. Where are some of the Eurocup faded stars?
Totti went to the shrine of Our Lady of Devout Love, to ask for pardon and offer her the shirt he wore in the game against Denmark.
Koller is on his honeymoon. The too tall Czech forward married right before the cup. The press said his wife was weary, and wanted him back soon. Did his unconcious betray him in the key match against Greece?
